Dr. Benjamin L Rojas JR., DO

I was an ER patient at Condell. Dr. Rojas looked at my EKG and said that it did not show a heart attack but symptomatically I was presenting in severe cardiac distress. He immediately ordered me down to the operating room for an angiogram. While in prep for the test my heart went into defib and then stopped. He found one artery 100% blocked, the widow-maker artery 80% blocked and a third artery 50% blocked. He revived me and stented the fully blocked artery with directions to come back to do the 80% artery when I am more recovered. He saved my life when my symptoms, body type (I am not overweight), life style (I exercise frequently and eat right, do not smoke or drink) did not indicate that I was about to have a massive heart attack. His quick action saved me from death and any major heart damage - I only suffered 5% damage which will revert to zero in the coming months where I could have died or been severely brain damaged and been an invalid if I survived. I owe my life and quality… of life to him from this point forward. He is a blessing.

I inherited Dr Rojas as my cardiologist from an Emergency Room visit. Dr Rojas found that I had a completely blocked artery on the anterior side of my heart and he immediately placed a lifesaving stent. Several years later, I needed medical clearance for a knee replacement surgery and again Dr Rojas found that I had another artery 80 percent occluded, and he skillfully placed another stent. Dr Rojas is very thorough and he prevented me from having another heart attack. He is a very kind physician and he takes the time to educate his patients and he has respectfully address all of our concerns. I am truly grateful to have met Dr Rojas and to have received his expert medical care.

Needs to slow down. Old folks don't process info that quickly. There is 1 person that takes you into the exam room. She needs to get a personality.

He came to my rescue when needed very quickly, was super attentive to me as his new patient and to my wife who was very scared. We thank him and are very grateful for all he did to save my life, but were seriously disappointed when he just disappeared from Kankakee, IL! We miss him very much....especially his energy and caring personality. Very sorry he's not available to us here anymore.
