Dr. Benjamin Joseph Schwartz, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Schwartz for 3 years and he is awesome. He is always very interested in how things are going in my life. I see him as part of my recovery from substance abuse and have just over 3 years of sobriety. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Schwartz and highly recommend him to anyone seeking a caring physician for long-term maintenance recovery. His treatment plan includes regular counseling sessions and he staffs excellent counselors. He has a big heart and is a very sharp Doc. With all this said, his treatment program does not tolerate any B.S.; you have to be committed and, so long as you stay committed, they are there for you.

I saw Dr Schwart for opioids treatment for a year. He really cared every time how you were, and would recommends things/meds to try that could help

I have never seen Dr Schwartz but he's the head dr for the Doctor's Family Clinic. A few years ago I fell & a dr at this clinic ordered an MRI on my knees & x-ray on one arm. He gave me Rx for pain - 2 every 3-4 hrs, muscle relaxer, 4 Advil & 2 Tylenol...taken them all at the same time. He gave me a tennis elbow cuff for the arm he did not x-ray. Turns out after a month of drugs that an Ortho surgeon x-rayed that arm & it was broken. A few weeks ago I hurt my back & went to same clinic 4 blks from my house. Gave me pain pills & showed me exercises for my back. A week later I went to a Providence clinic in agony. Turns out the MRI this clinic ordered showed I have a herniated disk & the exercises he gave me could have done permanent damage. Good thing I was in too much pain to do them. Also, Doctor's Family Clinic gave me thyroid pills that I've never taken in my life. When I asked the medical assistant what they were she said she had no idea & the dr was in with a patient. I got… them filled but something told me not to take them. When I called the clinic the next day I was told not to take them, they were given to me in error. They reimbursed me for the pills with a note on the check "Reimbursement for Rx given to patiet in error." I value my health way too much to go back to that clinic, even if it is a few blocks from my house. I'd rather drive the 20 minutes to the Providence clinic & make sure I got correct treatment.
