Dr. Benjamin Adam Steinberg, MD

I am extremely disgusted and disappointment in the treatment I received from Dr. Steinberg and his team. According to the American Medical Association’s patient’s rights, physicians should serve as a patient advocate by respecting “the right to courtesy, respect, dignity, and timely responsive attention to his or her needs.” This is the first right listed, and the one that was most abused during the past two months. I understand with the stress of adapting to the coronavirus and the fact that they are treating hundreds of patients, that mistakes can be made. However, Dr. Steinberg and his team never once took responsibility or apologized for the 6-week delay in my results and losing my imaging disc after being told for two weeks that it was just waiting to be read. There was a lack of communication with me that was never addressed or apologized for, and I was constantly belittled for simply requesting my results. These results affected the decisions for me to go back to school and my… ability to participate in school as a student athlete. It affected my quality of life during this time, as I was afraid to exercise in fear of doing something to damage my heart. I will not be working with Dr. Steinberg and his team anymore, as I have given them too many chances and each time they abused my kindness. I hope that these incidents will be properly evaluated, and that the physicians and team members involved will learn from my experience. I would like future patients to be informed before choosing Dr. Steinberg as their cardiologist.
