Dr Roth exacerbated my depression with sadistic comments. He terminated my therapy at the one yr anniversary of the death of a loved one. I’ve never met a more brutal unkind therapist.

Dr Roth is a gifted and perhaps brilliant therapist. However he definitely has stringent rules regarding attendance to his sessions and in fact terminated my therapy of almostv2 years months after my mother’s death( and when I most needed him) due to my failure to attend twice, rather than once a week. This was at a time that I was very depressed and could barely get out of bed, let alone travel the 45 minutes by subway to get to him, and was also aware of the cost of out of pocket therapy(1600-2000 dollars a month) with no reimbursement, My opinion of therapists has not been terribly positive and although I am grateful to this person for several insights and his flexibility while my mother was ill and dying, his intransigence at the end was both without compassion and unprofessional .
