Dr. Bennett Willard, DO

Dr. Willard doesn't pull any punches, which is probably the reason for low reviews. There is not an easy solution to chronic pain, nor does one plan of treatment fit every patient. He guides me through what is right for me and my condition, and I appreciate his care.

I have been a patient here for around 3 years. Honestly, Dr. Willard's bed side manner leaves much to be desired. However, to date, I have had amazing results with sedation and the lumbar/spine injections. Another critique, they do not answer the phone! So good luck if you need to cancel/reschedule an appointment. The nurses are nice, but the doctor is sort've just plain mean. I started going to this office, because they were able to offer the injections with sedation. Im scary and I think these injections hurt. I do not take pain meds/opiods or other drugs, and this is important to note, because I feel like this office sorta treats everyone like they are drug seeking. Typically, I go every three months, visits last about an hour and I feel great for the next 2.5 months. Today's appointment, I waited in the office for an hour an a half, only to be told that they no longer offer sedation. I am LIVID! In order to get this appoitment, you must have a driver and prepare...its… a whole thing. So I not only wasted my time but another persons as well. It seems like the office could've sent out a letter/email/text indicating the new policy. But they clearly wanted a billable appointment, so I blindly went to this appointment, expecting one thing, only to have a compeletly disapointing outcome. I realize that the office/doctors are 'following new guidelines' but I think these changes could've been handled differently. Lastly, when I asked Dr. Willard for suggestions/options for back pain relief, he was rude and simply left the room. There was no good-bye or checkout instructions. He simply stormed out. Im very disappointed and am in search of other care options. This was unacceptable.

If you are at all concerned about being infected with COVID-19, stay away from Dr. Willard. He refused to wear a mask that would even get close to covering his nose or mouth and when I asked him to, went into a rant against the COVID-19 vaccines citing invented sources. When I made it clear that this was unacceptable, he immediately said he would transfer me to a different doctor. I used to see Dr. Willard 4 years ago and he was wonderful then, but not sure why he is so jaded and cruel now.

very rude and abrupt

I have had back problems from age 20 and it only got worse as I aged at 36 I was passing out from the pain . Went to many Doctors and they could find nothing . they sent me to therapy etc nothing helped . Finally my Dr sent me to a back specialist and he found the problem but it was inoperable and sent me to Michigan pain clinic . Dr Willard has helped me get my Life back I have been pain free 95 to 100% for about 14 yrs now without surgery. I find that he takes his time to make sure he does his best to explain what he is going to do. He got me to my retirement age and I really respect him as a Dr and a friend through the yrs . because he does care you still have to be aware of your back condition and help yourself take care of your back and he will remind you. some might take offence and not want to hear this but he is serious about helping you . I feel like Dr Willard and the staff at Holland pain clinic is Family they treat me great. I would be lost without them.

I would not recommend this doctor. Didn’t take the time to hear what the issues are. Made the appointment very uncomfortable.

I have been going to Dr. Willard for a year. I have never had to wait long to be called to see him. He is very businesslike, asks questions nd I can talk to him about my pain problems. He has helped tremendously. I will continue to see him. His staff is friendly and answer any questions I may have. Thank you Dr. Willard Sincerely, Karen Greenbauer

Heads up; don't use this doctor at MPC- he's rude, and doesn't care about his patients, period! I know many people who have had this quack and they say the same thing- he's rude, impolite, and his staff can't stand him either- I know!!! MPC, do yourself a favor and fire this clown!

Three years ago I was on the verge of disability due to excruciating knee pain. With the help of injections and moderate medication, I am working full time still and am experiencing at least 90% pain relief and without a knee replacement. Dr. Willard takes great care of me and explores all alternatives to major surgery and too much narcotic pain medication. He is a fantastic doctor.

Had pain for years from car accident in 2000. Did injections for awhile and now I'm feeling good and no more injections. Highly recommended. If you drug addicts think this is the spot it isn't. He never once gave me pills and I respect him for this.
