Dr. Bennett Scott Zivney, MD

Only cared if I was wanting to get pregnant. I went to Dr. Zivney office at least 5 times in 4 years. Each experience was worse than the prior visit. I could list at least 10 things that were disappointing. A few were: On the form, it listed how many children do you have. I listed all my children, plus answering the questions about miscarriages. Once the office realized the math didn't add up they asked me. I shared how one child was adopted by there wasn't a space for that and it just said how many children do I have. I understand this was a medical appointment, so I saw it as an opportunity to share how women with infertility already have a hard time coming for this check-ups. That a simple solution in their form would help bridge that gap. 1 by changing the questions to "How many biological children do you have?" or add a line for an adopted child. I overheard the nurse talking with the Dr. Zivney outside my door he clearly stated that I was being too sensitive. When asked in my… appointment if I had any questions, I saw an opportunity to shared more about a simple step that would ease the process for women that are adoptive moms is usually a difficult setting by not discounting a child that was adopted as less than a biological child. It was clear he wasn't listening and didn't care. I never left his office without him saying, "Here is my card to give a friend in case they are waiting to get pregnant." He always wanted to talk about me getting pregnant and I had to make it clear every visit that I had zero intention of getting pregnant and that wasn't the purpose of my visit. I was there only for my annual health screening. Another time Dr. Zivney didn't collect enough sample for my screening test so I had to come back for another one. They office fought me hard wanting to me pay for the redo visit when it wasn't anything I did wrong. He had to redo the test because it was done incorrectly, but they wanted me to pay for his mistake. Years past and I adopted another child and the nurse asked me how many kids I have and I told her, but I said on the form they only care about my biological child. She said no, they paperwork ask how many kids I have. So I told her but gave her heads up that this has been a constant conversation over the years. She said let me ask. She did and she came by with tears down her face apologizing because she had walked closely with someone who had infertility and had adopted and knows how it would make her feel if she had to fill out the form out according to their desire. I know it may seem petty to some, but unless you have struggled with infertility and had miscarriages and the hardest place to walk in doesn't "see" or "hear" you in their own field of work than I think that speaks a louder volume about their goals as a practice. Lastly, when you do your intake weight, bp, and answer all the recent medical information you do it in an open room with several other patients around you. It's like another waiting room with no privacy. After asking around to other doctors offices and friends about my experience I quickly learned I wasn't alone in my perspective about Dr. Zivney. (Please don't delete this review like my last review about Dr. Zivney.)

We chose this dude as my wife's OBGyn some years ago when we moved to College Station. As we later found out, she had a fairly common condition that caused some substantial discomfort. Needless to say he was not able to diagnose her correctly. Towards the end of our experience with him, him and his staff were becoming increasingly rude as they must have thought my wife is coming there just to waste their time. Then he talked to me explaining that there is nothing physically wrong with her and it's all in her head. We immediately changed to a different doctor who correctly diagnosed my wife's condition in a matter of minutes and who my wife had a wonderful experience for several years before the doctor moved to New Zealand. Then we were recommended another doctor in town and our experience with her was just as good. I don't think your doctor necessarily has to be your best buddy, but he or she should be well qualified and capable of correctly diagnosing problems and determine the right… course of treatment. Judging from our experience and other comments I have seen here, I think his credentials as a diagnostician are pretty questionable too. You don't have to put your health in risk and you don't need to experience the kind of care this guy delivers. There are good OB/GYNs in College Station, just go and find one.

Dr. Zivney is exactly the kind of Dr. I like. He's direct, to the point, without a lot of extraneous chit chat. This is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I prefer it. That isn't to say he's not kind, he is and he really cares about your health. He's always up on my chart and history when I see him so we aren't going over it each and every time I go in. He can be late and cancelled appointments are part of the deal when you choose a gynecologist who is also an OB. So don't be outraged if you get bumped due to an emergency delivery.

The only thing that is low for Dr. Zivney is promptness, but that's chiefly because he's an OB/GYN and stuff happens, at all hours and time. So, if you have a routine appointment, you might get bumped. But, if you have any kind of emergency, you know he will be there. I've seen him for years and he's my kind of doc. Matter of fact, looking out for your best interests. Explains it all, clearly and straightforward. If you need a lot of hand holding, emoting and fluff from a doctor, he may not be your cup of tea. But for follow up and making sure I know what is happening with my body, he's spot on.

This man has no compassion for his patients.

He was extremely rude and disrespectful, and basically just a huge jerk of a person. I was not at all satisfied and I definitely would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I don't know why this guy got into medicine, but it obviously had nothing to do with having compassion for others. To say I had a horrible experience is a huge understatement. Steer clear if you can.

I think Dr. Zivney was great, he delivered both my children and I couldn't be happier with the results. I will admit that I did have a few issues that he didn't really refuse to discuss but kind of pushed to the side as if they were just normal pregnancy issues. I've been seeing him for going on 6 yrs now and wouldn't go anywhere else. I love his nurse and the care I received from both of them was amazing. I have depression issues and I told him that when I came to him with my 1st pregnancy and he was VERY willing to work with me in that area, so far as to speak with both my husband and my mother to make sure that the hormones werent making it any worse since I choose to go thru both pregnancies unmedicated for my depression. He always answers any question I have and while pregnant he could count on a written list of things to answer. He was very patient with me and never over baring or suggested I see anyone I didn't need to medically. Overall great experiance, hoping for a 3rd and if… that does infact happen, he's most definately the one I will go see. :)

Dr. Zivney came highly referred to me and I have been nothing but pleased that I went along with that referral. He is thorough in his procedures and puts your needs first. He was very professional, very personable, very caring and I would never consider going to anyone else for my gyn. needs. His straightforwardness is a plus in this day and time. He makes his opinion known, but he gives you, the patient, the final word and afterall, that's what a doctor is supposed to do.

Dr. Zivney is wonderful! If it were not for him, my daughter could quite possibly not be here.
