Dr. Berc Sarafian, MD

"If you're looking for a Dr who simply will not pay any attention to your files and or your case history. If you are ok with your Dr not staying in touch with whomever you sign on as your Health care surrogate to make decisions on your behalf. And if you don't really care if your Dr follows these two line of his Hippocratic oath: A, I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug. B, I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick. Then you have found the Dr you have been looking for."

Dr Sarafian was the weekend cover doctor for my mothers pulmonologist. On that day, Dr Sarafian delivered the news to me that my mother had terminal cancer. I was alone and hearing this information for the first time as to how much the cancer had taken over my moms body. As I stood there crying, Dr Sarafian compared my mom to an old ford vehicle. Basically time to get rid of the old and in with the new. He then basically belittled me when I misunderstood his diagnosis. This news was delivered to me in my moms hospital room loud enough for her roommate to hear ( and complain about). His delivery to me was so violent that I ran out of the hospital - sick to my stomach. No one and I repeat no one should be given this information in such an inhumane way. Not sure how this person can still hold a medical degree.

Horrible experience with too many wrongs

The nurse is great. My husband has been going to him for a while now. Have always like the doctor a lot. That other review with all the complaining and him complaining about his kids. I don't know where she got all that from. Doesn't seem like the same doctor to me. Never had a bad experience with him at all! I would suggest that people go and see him first before making their assumption on that one review. We have always been happy with him. They always return phone calls and spends time with you as well.

Great doctor and staff

One of the most horrible doctors I've ever encountered. Looks at the computer. Doesn't listen to you. Does not document correctly with any subjective evidence. tells you how tired he is and about his kids and how he doesn't sleep. And, is NOT board certified in pulmonary anything. Thinks he knows sleep disorders and doesnt'. I went to him for pulmonary hypertension and he just referred back to my primary and said get an ECHO. He didn't believe me and did not want to keep any medical documentation I gave him. I can't tell you how horrible he is. I reported him to the director of nursing at the clinic I go to and the nurse practitioner. They know how bad he is but nothing they can do because he is the only one they can authorize. And, yes, I was a RN for 24 yrs. and know what good care is and it isn't him. He even argued with me about my condition being congential when I had the ECHO that was normal of 2008 and the one that is NOT normal of 2013. I won't get technical but please stay… away. And, they...his assistant also, broke HIPPA regulations. It would take me too long to go on about him. Just do not go.
