Dr. Bernadette Aulivola, MD

The first time I met with Dr. Aulivoula I felt very comfortable. I had never been to Loyola as a patient before so it was a little unnerving but when I saw the interaction of the doctors, staff and patients I was at ease. She does a thorough exam and explains everything in plain English so you understand, plus she does not rush out the door!!

There is something wonderful about a doctor like this. I came from Oak Park and didn't realize that the entrance for 55 to go west at first Avenue was closed. Although I left in PLENTY of time, I was late!! Dr. Aulivola was not phased by this, fit me in and gave me very good advice on a problem I have had with a varicose vein for many years. Previous treatment made it worse. I liked that she took time with me, didn't make me feel rushed - no punishment for screwing up her schedule that morning. It as an optimal appointment. She is an example of what's right with medicine these days. I feel grateful to have been sent to her by my primary.

I can't say enough, after years of other doctors "guessing" on what was wrong she took the time to listen and gave an extensive exam and with a test to confirm her thoughts she had my diagnosis. She explains everything in depth in a way that's easy to understand, along with any options for treatment, any possibly risks, and she sits in the chair until you understand everything, she doesn't rush out like most Dr.'s do. It's nice to know that there are still great Dr.'s out there who care about treating their patients with the respect and care that we deserve. I drive over an hour to see her but I'll never go anywhere else.
