Dr. Bernard Alan Cohen, MD

My daughter has grown up with Dr. Cohen. She has been his patient for 15 years now. She was born with extensive portwine stains on her head, neck and back. He has completely removed them from her face. Has helped eliminate her eczema from her back, thanks to getting that portwine stain so light. Can't do much about the one on her head but the medication he has come up with is awesome. She follows up ever few years now for treatment to lighten and treat any new hemangiomas that pop up. He is caring, takes the time to talk to us. I think my daughter knows the ins and outs of his laser setup by now and at one point was considering a career is peds derm. So, all these negative comments I find hard to believe, my daughter was born with 1/4 of the back of her body looking like a giant purple ink spot. All the doctors at birth, had me flipping out thinking she was going to be both physically and mentally disabled, if she survived. Dr. Cohan was one of the 3 doctors on her team that got called… in, that gave me hope and he started treatment at about 1 month of age. She is perfectly health happy teenager, competitive athlete and straight A student. Another of my daughter just developed a hemangioma, she will be going to him as soon as this Covid crisis is over.

Took my two kids with growing warts for treatment. Both were put in the same room. He looked at them from the doorway, without ever entering the room or getting within 10 ft of the children. Told me that the warts will have to spread until their immune systems kick in to destroy. He said that it is only fair that they carry them for a while to spread it to other kids, since another kid must have given it to them. One child got better, the other one got into a lot of problem because she turned out to be immuno compromised. It took almost two years of pain and tears, repeated laser and candida antigen injections by another dermatologist when they turned into giant bleeding mushroom warts interfering with the use of her hands. His 5 min. of ultimate arrogance was not worth the 1200 $ ( 600 dollars each) he charged for complicated double consultation .

Dr. Cohen has been amazing. Excellent manner with my son!

This is at the jhu pediatrics. I think this doctor is overrated. It takes months to get an appointment. Then wait time is like an hour. Then a resident student comes and sees you and then doctor comes and reaffirms resident students diagnosis. People r not dumb. A quick google search of symptoms can tell you if it's an eczema. Doctor prescribes an ointment which makes it worse. Then you receive a big bill. We stuck to our regular pediatricians prescription and it seems to be working well.

Dr Cohen is perhaps the best physician I have ever had. I highly highly recommend him and feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have found him. He is an amazing doctor and human being.

Dr. Cohen has amazing bedside manners. One of the best doctors I have seen.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Cohen. He is warm and caring and has a wonderful bedside manner with children and adults alike. We see Dr. Cohen on a semi monthly basis. He is always pleasant, knowledgeable and very caring. He is the best doctor I have ever seen. His staff is courteous and pleasant.

Dr. Cohen is one of my favorite doctors of all time. He listens, is patient, takes whatever time is necessary; he is not an alarmist, but treats negative situations with warmth and humor (when appropriate); and he makes patients feel like friends, not assembly line pieces as most doctors do. I cannot recommend him more highly. I'd seen him first when I lived in Maryland, and even though I moved to another state, I go out of my way to make a trip to see him whenever I need a dermatologist. He's as caring with adults as with children .... Just a great physician!
