Dr. Bernard Marion Cooke, MD

Dr. Cooke is a really good Doctor in that he spends an incredible amount of time with you and really takes the time to get to know you. I'd say in the 5 times I've visited him in 5 years I've clocked more face to face time that all the rest of my life with any other doctors combined. HE really is able to create a connection with his patients. His office staff however really depends and they really screwed me when I needed an RX to be sent for a vital medicine.

I called in to see if I could get a doctors note for work. And the next available appointment was 4 days later. I explained that I probably wouldnt be sick in 4 days. His staff told me that it was ok that he would still write me a note then. HR at my work said that they needed a note the same day and that all the note needed to say was that I tried to schedule an appointment and that the next available wasn't until 4 days later. I call back to ask I they can write me a note stating that and Sandra began to get snippy with me about not staying up to date with my regular visits and telling me that the doctor was unsure if he was still my doctor. I told her that if there were appointments that I was supposed to schedule that they should reach out to me to schedule. She said no that it was my responsibility. I said that she works at my doctor's office and is supposed to help me not get snippy with me. I said that I was going to find a new doctor. She said, "Fine!". I could believe it.… And I still can't. Who works at a medical office and yells at patient for not scheduling appointments. They're supposed to help you and care about you! Stay away from this office!

25 years ago he wanted be to have surgery for a new heart valve. I went to UCLA for a 2nd opinion and am still going strong with my ORIGINAL heart valve. They also tried to charge my insurance for blood tests never done. And he made me wear a "holter monitor" for a week and then said it didn't work right and he couldn't read it, but go ahead with the surgery anyway. And then he said he was "thinking of getting out of this doctor business and opening up a Chuck E. Cheese." What a nutjob.

I love Dr. Cooke. He takes the time to listen to my concerns, answers all my questions, and is very thorough in his examinations. He explains why tests are ordered and always gets back to me in a very timely manner regarding my test results. He is such a great doctor -- very conscientious and very ethical. I wish all doctors were like Dr. Cooke as he is simply the best!!!

Dr. Coooke is a great cardiologist. He carefully listens to his patients, spends time talking to you before, during, and after examining you and is great at explaining your diagnosis to you. He has great rapport with his patients and I very highly recommend him.
