Dr. Luby took my condition, concerns and facts and after visits and tests, he explained options that resulted in bladder sling surgery at WVU/Thomas Memorial in July 2023. I would encourage anyone with bladder leakage to make an appointment. He is a matter-of-fact doctor and a caring surgeon. He provides a plan for care and recovery. The office waits can sometimes be long, but worth the time spent. The staff is genuine. The results are life changing.

I met Dr. Luby little over 6 years ago, awhile after my original doctor, Dr. Cotes retired. I’ve had a lot of problems with my ovaries over the years since I was 16 before my children. When I tell you I was so scared to switch doctors and have another one operate on me I was scared! Very quickly I knew I went to the right guy, Dr. Luby is just so professional and makes sure you know he’s got you and what the plan is! I can never thank him enough! He did my partial hysterectomy and a few other laparoscopic procedures and every time you can barely see any scarring! He listens to you when you think you aren’t being heard! He’s saved my life when I was doubled over in pain from a ruptured cyst, he came straight to the er to check on me ordered an ultrasound! Then booked an or right after all of his other surgeries that day! HE worked overtime that day for me! HE heard me! && He is simply just the best around, my husband and I are super blessed Dr. Cotes sent me to him!

Dr. Bernard Luby, Urogynecologist How blessed is West Virginia to have such a skilled and knowledgeable doctor with a caring staff. Hands down the BEST UROGYNECOLOGIST IN THE COUNTRY. From the time I walked into his office I knew that this was the place for me. The confidence of Dr. Luby and his staff had made me feel at ease and never did I second guess whether or not I should have prolapse surgery and hysterectomy. Dr. Luby explained everything so I could understand and made sure all the right tests were done before surgery so he would know exactly what he was dealing with. That put me at ease and so much appreciation knowing how much he cared. I had a five hour da vinci robotic hysterectomy with prolapse fix. My surgery and recovery has been the BEST EXPERIENCE with little to NO PAIN...UNBELIEVABLE. His aftercare with test results, antibiotics, follow-up visits and exams is extraordinary and again shows his compassionate and well being for his patients. I can't stress… enough how blessed we are to have Dr. Luby and his staff in West Virginia. Ladyies, there is hope for us to gain back our lives and we don't have to live or be ashamed about having prolapse. Dr. Luby and his staff gave me back my life. In October of 2022, I first met Dr. Bernard Luby, a urogynecologist at Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. I found Dr. Bernard Luby to be a very competent doctor who demonstrated the attributes needed to work efficiently and professionally. He understood all my concerns and efficiently explained my diagnosis. Dr Luby is also caring and compassionate to his patients. Dr. Luby always made me feel as though I was receiving the best possible care, that my concerns were valid, that he was listening to me, and I was being heard. In conclusion, I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Bernard Luby. He has been very attentive to my health issues. I had complicated health problems, and he addressed them all. He is truly kind, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. He is a wonderful surgeon, and his staff is always helpful and kind. I am so glad I chose Dr. Luby and would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had endured pain in my pelvis and back for years. Dr. Luby performed a robot assisted laproscopic hysterectomy and I cannot believe the pain is gone. He was so careful for my safety, sending me for testing at a Cardiologist and Pulmonologist before surgery. Everything went great and recovery smooth. I highly recommend Dr. Luby.

Dr. Luby is an amazing physician and surgeon. He made me aware of issues that I had dealt with for years but thought it was the aftermath of having a child 25 years ago. He is an artist and fixed my bladder. I am truly blessed to have found such a wonderful doctor.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Luby and his entire staff! I had a successful surgery and recovery. Dr. Luby takes time to explain and answer questions. He will treat you as if you're his only patient. Not many doctors take time to listen like he does. Some wait times were longer than others but that's because he's taking time with each patient. His entire staff is top notch.

Dr. Luby is an outstanding doctor. I had been dealing with female problems for a long time and he found the issue. Performed surgery. The recovery was a breeze, which was surprising to me. Excellent aftercare from Dr. Luby and his staff. Thank you Dr. Luby!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend this doctor and his staff! They are all very helpful and kind. He is excellent at what he does. Very knowledgeable and compassionate. I suffered from urinary incontinence for many years. I never did anything about it out of fear. Finally it got bad enough that I had to. Dr. Luby did an excellent job and I finally have my quality of life back. If I had known the surgery would be so easy, I would have done it years ago.

After numerous visits to my gynecologist in Princeton WV explaining to me that some women had more painful menstrual cycles than others, I had heard enough. I left that office in tears, angry as I got no answers once again. I knew there was something worse going on. So after ranting a couple days to friends, family and co workers, one of my friends suggested Dr. Luby. She was from Charleston and said he was very well known treating pelvic pain and periods. I decided to give him a try, praying I would get answers. From the first phone call to the office, the staff was exceptionally caring and so helpful. I was given an appointment I believe 2 days after the call, so no wait at all. My mother and I went to the appointment and when Dr. Luby came in and I started explaining my symptoms, pain, heavy menstrual cycles. He immediately mentioned to me endometriosis. He was blown away no doctor had ever mentioned to me or tried doing laparoscopic surgery to confirm the diagnosis. I felt like a… sense of relief after just the first appointment and his concern for my pain and condition. He was so sympathetic with me, which you usually do not get with a doctor. You’re basically normally just a number. But definitely not here. My surgery was scheduled on the very first appointment and a few weeks later it was confirmed I did have endometriosis. After the surgery, I began having more severe pain and then got a cyst on my ovary. Dr. Luby explained we needed to get the ovary out. A little over a week post op now, I am having little to no pain. He had to remove my appendix because it was also plastered with endometriosis. He was able to get 100% of it and I cannot wait for the next menstrual cycle to come because I’m believing for NO PAIN! Every single person on his staff is awesome. So friendly, helpful and concerned for your every need! Highly highly recommend Dr. Luby and look forward to what’s in store for me and a better quality of life because of him !! Thank you Dr. Luby. :)
