Unprofessional staff is rude to long wait time.

No need for review he will ruin ure life with pain pills ..If all he really juicy stuff came out about his office it would be a reality show.

I called my health insurance to switch primary care doctors after moving to a new county and chose Dr Shelton off their website provider listings. That was on a Monday. After calling several times Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday where it would ring a few times and then go to voicemail saying to call back during regular business hours (it WAS during their quoted business hours) I finally reached them. I stated I needed to make an appointment and was met with the most unprofessional, rude, condescending set of questions I have ever encountered from a Dr office. I was given the third degree about WHY I wanted an appointment (just to establish myself with the Dr and be able to get my NOT PAIN PILL RELATED medications refilled). I have been on medications for my heart rate for 12 years and always gotten them from my PCP, yet was told Dr Shelton was NOT a cardiologist and was I sure I wasn't going to suddenly claim I had lower back pain to get pain pills. I was left speechless. I was… questioned as to WHY I switched primary care drs, even after explaining several times that I had moved. I told them I had never experienced this line of questioning when trying to schedule a Dr appt before and was told they were just trying to 'ensure I was a good fit for the Dr'. I was told they'd call me back to let me know IF I could schedule an appointment. I was called back about 20 minutes later and told 'Dr Shelton isn't taking new patients anymore'. When I explained he was already assigned to me via my insurance, I was told to call and change it via my insurance because 'Dr Shelton wouldn't see me.' I have never been treated this way by office staff at a Dr office before. I was not making an appt to 'claim I had lower back pain' or get narcotics. I was simply trying to get established with a new Dr in the new area that I live. Stay far away from this office. I don't know what their issue is, but something is very strange and wrong about them. I filed a complaint with my insurance and will also be letting the hospitals they are affiliated with know, but in the meantime, do NOT try to use Dr Shelton as your primary care doctor!

Very personable, does not have the typical condescending attitude of most doctors I've dealt with. Has a wealth of medical experience he will share with you. I'm in my 50s and he is the best doctor I've ever met.

Very unprofessional Dr. Doesn't help you get better. Doesn't follow up on test results. Just wants to write prescriptions and let you go. Doesn't return calls. If all you want are drugs this is the Dr for you.

This Dr. is highly intelligent, extremely caring and i have been going to him for years now. His office staff is his only down fall. No reminder of your appointment, they do not return phrymacy calls. The staff doesn't have time to get your labs and they are argumentative. Just the Staff. Please note it is not all the staff, just those that answer the phone,make appointments, etc....truly i wish they would give reminder calls and let you know if the office is closed or not. I cannot say enough good things about the Dr. himself though. He is very thoroughly caring and figures out what is wrong or sends you to a specialist if he cannot handle the problem himself. No kids in the office is also wonderful as he is an adult only Dr. which helps because he is dealing with adults only. This Dr. is well worth the wait and the frustration of office staff. I just really wish the staff could/would be more efficient.

This was a great Dr. Now between a office staff being rude uncooperative & staff's refusal to be allowed to speak with the Dr or get his personal email, there is no way to talk to the Dr. Staff won't even make sure your test results are in your file. Bathrooms are dirty, no hand cleaner or toliet covers. I actually had a blood draw in the staff's food table! Unbelievable!! A disgrace to whom this Dr once was. Not even a reminder call as to your appointment time, but hey they can call you and say you must reschedule after you took time off work. Dr touches you inappropriate!! Don't go to this Dr!!!
