Dr K has taken exceptional care of our teenager, as well as, helping us as parents understand what is happening. Our child doesn't open up easily, yet Dr K was able to establish a connection almost immediately.

I saw Dr. Kumetat for a period of 10 months. I feel like he didn't listen to my needs as a patient and overall his demeanor was not very professional. He diagnosed me with illnesses I didn't have and prescribed me medication I didn't need instead of addressing the issues I DID need to be medicated for. I would not reccomend him to anyone.

Dr. Kumetat is one of the kindest doctor that I have met but he is unable to give me (the parent) any instructions or advice that I could help my child with. Every psychiatrist that I have been to in the past have been ready to see me within 5 minutes of the appointment and have a specific amount of time for the appointment. One time I have waited over an hour and a half another time fifty eight minutes and the shortest wait time to be seen by Dr. Kumetat was thirty five minutes. Some appointments lasted twenty minutes, some lasted thirty five minutes and one time eleven minutes (and still paid a full payment). It really pains me to write a less than flattering review but I think it's important to know what to expect if you choose Dr. Kumetat as your child or adolescent's psychiatrist.

If you live anywhere near Pittsford, NY you would be lucky if your child or children could be treated by Dr. Bernie Kumetat. Both of my children had the opportunity to see him over a period of 10 years. To this day I remember the comment that was made to us regarding our pending first appointment with him, you'll love him or hate him (we met with two others before meeting with him)..........I can't imagine anyone not loving him! He is someone who truly cares about the kids he sees. Over the years, we have seen 8+ child psychiatrists, due to hospitalizations, and moves. He is the one we always go back to, even thought we no longer live in the area. He gets it, and goes above and beyond to help children in need. The love and care he provides his patients is truly heartwarming. I will always consider him a part of of extended family.
