Dr. Bert Allen Silich, MD

My husband took me HF Sterling Heights Emergency back in Oct/Nov 2018. Dr Silich was the attending physician at the time. He was rude and condescending. I was having balance issues at the time and his questions were more like an interrogation than trying to get answers to the problem. He did do a battery of test which all turned out good and he said it might be vertigo. I asked him how the CT scan of my head was because my mother had died of a weak artery in her brain at about the age I am now. His reply was "Obviously it is good or we would not be sending you home." I left there feeling like I had bothered the man. Hope I did not wreck his day!

The doctor should be ashamed of himself. I had food poisoning. He promised me a bed at another hospital only if he could look at my VAGINA. Once I let him he recanted the hospital room promised. He then tried to force me to go by ambulance. Finally he forced me to sign papers to leave against medical advice. The other hospital would take me. All hospitals would take me without a vaginal exam at HIS location. When I questioned him he said he HAD to do it or the other hospital would not admit me. That’s sick. This is a total moral and ethical violation.

Mr. Bert let family left family unaware and didnot consult with them, before making decisions on Mother's care, who is a 4th stage Breast Cancer patient with ESBL Infection from this Hospital and was sent from Georgian Nursing Home because of suspected Gastric Parasis, that the Nursing home didn't have the ability to do Gastric Emptying Study and nursing staff to get our Mother better. Dr. Silich didnot consult with patient about her needs or to call Georgian Heartland for more details. Two of my sisters were there. One is an R.N. with 30 years of experience and the other is a Paralegal for a prominent firm with a degree. But, the doctor had a terrible bedside manner and treated them badly.He was going to send our Mother back with Bacterim and not follow up with requested Gastric tests. She cannot sit up, or walk or feed herself. She was doing fine as of Sat 10/22/2012, and to be released on 10/24, but then had serious diarhea and vomiting becoming dehydrated and very week over a 40… hour period. Dr. Doyle advised family to come to ER for tests and admission to get to the bottom of whether it is Gastric Parisis, ESBl, new Cancer issues, etc. If we hadn't argued mightily, the good? doctor wasn't going to admit her.We don't appreciate his lack of communication, methods of communication, lack of reviewing for details or failing to consult with patient or family before taking action, not the Henry Ford way. My sisters had to leave to go to work and I came to be here until morning, because we can't trust the Doctor. Nurses agreed with Family about our Mother needing more care in such a weakened state.
