Dr. Berta M Bergia, MD

Dr. Bergia was my very first neurologist. I trusted her judgement always and thought highly of her. That is until she had her receptionist pass along a diagnosis to me. The name of this diagnosis scared me and the receptionist was unable to tell me what it was, what it meant. It upset me that I was not important enough to this doctor to get an explanation. Not too long after that, I was needing a refill but none were authorized, so I called her office only to be informed she had retired from her practice. She didn't inform any of her former patients that she was leaving. It was a pretty messed up act for her to do that without so much as a heads up.

She diagnosed my problem which was severe

Dr. Bergia was the best neurologist I have ever had. I wish she hadn't ever closed her private practice. Since then I had to start over with other neurologist and its been several years since that time and they haven't been able to catch up or come even close to the progress that I made with her. If you ever go back into private practice please let me know.

Her staff is really rude and they talk extremely loud, and for someone with migraines you just cringe the whole time you are there. They get very angry when you ask for copies of your records because you want a 2nd opinion. They will tell you they will send them to the new Dr. and they want to know who you are going to see and never send the records. She will run all the tests you let her, she thinks you have a fat wallet. Make sure you ask why she is ordering them and if they are truly necessary.

Went to make yearly appt and phone was disconnected. Went to office and it was locked with a hand (looked like a 3rd grader wrote it) written note saying it was closed. I'm suppose to send 35.00 to some PO Box for my records!? What the heck!? No notification!? Need seisure meds now!!

Dr Bergia sees Sleep and Neurodiagnosticpatients at Park W Hospital her only location.(Closed her private practisesome time ago).

I suffer chronic cluster headaches which are the most painful affliction known to modern medicine and one of the hardest to diagnose. She was extremely curteous, her staff was very helpful and patient. She remembers every minute detail of each of my visits even my light sensitivity and which eye it is in. Extremely helpful, and is always the first to say when she would like more information, and makes sure that she gets you to who you need to go to for it.

Dr. Bergia is very professional, maybe too much so. Even after years as a patient, I still felt uncomfortable around her. Not very personable. The office is small, dreary, and dated. The staff is rather curt and sometimes even rude. I have never felt that Iam appreciated. Since getting into see specialists is difficult, I stayed with the practice for years, but finally have left, and am SO GLAD. Pick someone else! She does NOT put her patients first!!!

Dr. Bergia is a very professional doctor and extremely caring at the same time. She takes time to listen to her patients and if the matter is urgent she will call immediately. She will do everything possible to make sure her patients are comfortable and that they understand what their diagnosis. She will also explain the prognosis at each visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Bergia to anyone seeking a Neurologist!

I love the staff but that Alice is a pill, she should not be an office manager let alone a nurse because she could care less if the patients are ok or not. Dr Bergia is very nice and in depth with my situation and ran all kinds of tests so I love her but that Alice is awful.
