Dr. Bess Tortolani, MD

Dr Beth was a doctor at Methodist hospital emergency room when my aunt was there. She did not take my aunts story seriously and thought she was there for pain medication. She was given release papers with Acetaminophen which is Tylenol. She later went to Lutheran and found to have 3 bulging discs. She passed away last week for a completely different reason but I finally had access to all her hospital documents and made it a point to find the lady doctor that was so not understanding of my aunts story.

I'll extend the benefit of the doubt, that she obnoxiousness was down toto sleep deprivation and a shortage of estrogen - something that even an obnoxious doctor has to get checked out. She was incredibly rude to my mother (my mother dared to ask a question) and kept asserting dominance by dropping that she was the doctor. Interestingly, when my mother replied that she too was a doctor, Dr Tortellini threw her head back laughing in mock exaggeration. Perhaps, she is unaware that short brown people with funny accents can be well educated and people have lives before they came to Pittsfield. The world is a diverse place of which there can never be enough tolerance - something I thought she (and her lovely partner Sarah) would havehave appreciated.
