Dr. Beth Ann Burns, DO

I am 32, have had hereditary high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and triglycerides since I was 17. I am not overweight, am in great shape, but have to deal with these hereditary items. When I don't take my meds for BP, it goes to 168 over 104 the very next day. She called in my prescrips weeks ago, but my online pharmacy messed up the order, so I ran out of meds, and felt really sick from super high BP. I called the office to see if they could call in something to tie my over till the online pharmacy straightened things out and could ship again, and they said yes, I called pharmacy to confirm, but the office never called it in for awwek supply to tie me over. I called the office back every hour and they said they assure they were going to call it in again, the office closed, and the pharmacy never got anything!!...I went to the pharmacy to see if there was anything they could do, otherwise I was going to the ER because I felt so sick. Luckily the pharmacy was allowed to give me 3 BP… pills because I went there before I used online pharmacy and they had my info. I called the doctor again 3 nights later because the online shipped but I still haven't received it...so I am out of meds again and today is 2nd day....and starting to feel really sick again and my BP is 168 over 104 again (going from 120 over 75 on meds). My girlfriend called (because I am starting to feel really sick again, and am trying to wait to get the meds from the the mail order) her emergency line to see if she could rush it to me and do anything to straighten it all up because I am feeling sick really fast. The emergency line (direct to the doctor) was mean and nasty to us and threaten to drop us as a patient. What kind of doctor does this??!! I called the online pharmacy afterwards to see if they can rush their order or do something to get my the BP meds. I take such a high dose, so they said they would authorize it for 4 days from the local pharmacy, until I get it....so I will call this morning, but now have to look for another doctor. What kind of doctor does this??!

Went to this doctor to get help for multiple symptoms after trying to refer myself to various specialists with no relief or cure, but I had better results with Google on my own. It was like talking to myself and she wasn't really trying to figure out anything. Afterwards she often doesn't tell you when to come back for a follow up or what to do next. This is what happened in one of my visits, pretty typical for what I realized later. Waited for almost 45 minutes after signing in before her staff even looked at the signing sheet despite the waiting room being empty, after almost an hour I finally went in, waited some more and then the Dr. came in rushing and had no idea what I was there for, she was asking a few questions as she quickly went trough my records and I had the impression she wasn't really paying attention to my answers, the worst was when she was like ohh I don't know what that is I can't help you, really? can you at least try to figure it out? I thought that's what she was… supposed to do. After probably 10 to 15 minutes she was gone after she gave me a referral to a specialist for one of my symptoms, never mind the other ten symptoms. That one time she told me to come back in three months, seriously? I thought maybe she was hoping I'd die before the next follow up. Came back after those three months and it was the same all over again. It really remind me to the opposite of Dr. House on TV, I'm currently looking for another Dr. that actually wants to figure out what's going on before I die.

the doctor is nice, but i just had the worst experience ever with her staff. my insurance policy number had changed and the secretary would not put in the number i was telling her (ihad just recently moved and had not recieved my new insurance card/had my old one with me but they had told me over the phone my new number). she refused to call and when i got frustrated, she said to another staff member, "you need to handle this because she's pissing me off!" i was so shocked they would speak to patients in this manner. such a shame! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!

I do think all this Dr's office cares about is how they are going to get paid. So the only health care they care about is your money. Very typical. I was a new patient a year ago and only visited this office twice after billing issues. That's right, I had billing issues after one visit. They don't take care of the billing issues at the office so you have to call their outside contracted billing office. To say they woman I talked with there was excellent and actually caught the personal named Karen at the Dr's office in a lie. Therefore I dropped this office like a bad habit, because thats all they provided to me.

Very thorough and pleasant.

Dr. Burns is in private practice now in Avalon Park. She is very nice and a very good doctor.She listens!

I've been living here for 4 years and have seen several doctors including one i worked for and Dr. Burns is by far the best i've seen very through and very careful with her diagnosis...she asks a lot of questions in order to understand her patients. Love her!

Really liked Dr. Burns. Her staff was professional and pleasant, and Dr. Burns was thorough and spent a lot of time getting to know the patient.
