Dr. Beth Ann Ryder, MD

I'm a 72 year old male in general good health. Not overweight and not taking any medications. Beth was very friendly upon our first meeting and explained the procedure for umbilical hernia repair. I accepted and had surgery the next week on Dr. Ryder's daughters birthday.. I am very satisfied with the results. After Six months the site is completely healed with a small incisional scar just above the navel. This was done at Providence VA Medical Center.

After waiting 2 and a half months for apointment in pain round the clock my daughter and I finally met her. The wait dosen't bother me but she then said she had to stop by her office and take a quick look at my file she had it for over2 months that thru me. She then said I would need a camera test and she would look up someone who did this. I waited I called and after several calls ANOTHER doctor found me someone who calls you back Dr. Hyder she is wonderful.Sadly the surgeon she refered me to is in the same practice as Ryder its a conflict and sadly for me I'm still in great pain. NINE months which the month of Oct has been in bed or my bathroom floor. Please don't let the smile fool you she is Not going to call you. IF she calls I pray you get the help you need I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Dr. Ryder is fantastic. Prompt, Courteous, Friendly, Caring and did a great job with my surgery. Would definitely recommend!

Sometimes surgeons can come off a little cold and disconnected, but not Dr Ryder. You do not get the feeling she is speaking at you but instead with you. She is very personable and easy to like. She also puts you at ease so you feel that you can ask anything, and take your time at your appointment without feeling like your "bothering" anyone. I haven't met a surgean with such a great bedside manner in a long time. And on top of all this she is great at what she does!!!
