Dr. Beth Scharlop, MD

My 15 year olds first time and was the worst/traumatizing moment. The doctor didn’t explain what she was doing at the time. She didn’t use the speculum only her two fingers with no gloves. My 15 year went home bleeding and very painful. Will never suggest this doctor to anyone.

Very attentive, great bedside manner.

She was very abrupt, almost rude. Very rough exam and noticed bleeding when I got home. I was not asked or warned about one especially hurtful exam. Will never return and would not recommend her to anyone.

diagnoses scary diseases before labs complete. when labs show up negative, doesn't apologize for scaring people. Misdiagnosed simple infection. took a year to get the right meds. VERY PAINFUL EXAM and not at all necessary.

-Office booked appt. on wrong day, which caused me to wait another 45 minutes after my initial scheduled time.-Dr. Scharlop is not gentle AT ALL. I came out of the office sore.-Dr. Scharlop does not do a thorough check up.-Dr. Scharlop does not spend any time with patients.-Dr. Scharlop told me to come back another time to talk more about my problem. -Dr. Scharlop will not combine appointments even when one appointment is to come back to get a prescription refill (birth control). -I would ask the doctor questions and she would beat around the bush and not answer them. When I would ask more detailed questions, she told me to come schedule another appointment (another $30 co-pay) to discuss it. -Definitely not the friendliest Doctor...you are more of a number than a patient. -The staff is friendly.-I wouldn't recommend Dr. Scharlop to my friends or family. She doesn't do a thorough job at all nor does she seem knowledgeable of her profession.

I have been a patient here for 20 yrs. As a nurse a stay informed on my own health care, do my own research, etc. I have had to push for certain testing and put my foot down and say no to other testing. Typically, for a routine appt, you need to call months in advance. However, now that the OB part has been phased out, appt scheduling and wait times should improve. I am comfortable talking with Dr. Scharlop, she knows my medical history, and I would not want another physician.

After being a patient here for 6 years, I am looking for a more professional office. Had to push for tests on an issue my doctor dismissed and the tests came back positive. Should have been treated years ago when I first asked but the issue is now potentially much more serious. Looking for a more professional office that doesn't require such long wait times and actually listens to patient concerns.
