Dr. Beth Marie Winke, MD

Winke Pain Management has the worse reception/operator staff around. I called the office today twice for reschedule and stayed on the phone with it ringing for 5 minutes. I called and selected the operator and I stay there 14:45 with the phone ringing. The operator came in twice and said hold please, but before I could say anything she was gone. As you where selecting which number you needed it told you to go to the website, but when I went there it was temporary out of order. Is this the way you run your business. It doesn't matter how good a doctor is, it's how good they get their patients. I have been going there for several years and the service has not gotten any better. If a patient would come in 15 -16 minutes late, than that appointment would be cancelled and a late fee would be assessed. Our time is as valuable as theirs.

I had what I considered to be a good relationship with Winkie’s pain management practice and despite that, was thrown out of their office without any reason. It seems that they saw the word “oxy” and decided that I was using other medication they had not approved. Rather than ask me I was grabbed by the arm and shoved through the door . I was told, publicly, that I could comeback in three months if I was clean. I saw both she and Winkie dodging in to the room next to mine and their conversation came through the walls. The waiting room had people in it. That was a public shaming and I fear that they will have ruined my reputation. I am in my 70s. Be careful because what they do to one they will do to you.

Receptionist is the rudest person that I have ever encountered in a medical office. I am not a patient but was calling to get info, etc. After she answered my first 2 questions she announced that she had another patient on hold that has been waiting while she has been "dealing with" me, so i told her that I had waited on hold for 6 min, so she said that I was going back on hold while she handled other patients. If that's how I am treated by the receptionist, how will I be treated as an actual patient? How is this office still practicing? Horrible!!!!

I wish I had known this before I went to see this doctor. The Virginia medical board had a disciplinary action against this doctor for improper care. After five or six visits and only seeing the doctor one of those visits I Now understand why. I have also noticed the doctor uses a laboratory in New York state for urinalysis while there are 14 higher rated labs in this very state. Since it's not the state she got her license in North State she practices in I find this very suspicious. Not recommended.

Best pain management doctor I’ve been to. They actually listen to me and my concerns about my pain and treatment. The office staff are very nice and friendly people. Highly recommended

Dr. Winke and staff very unprofessional. Gives runaround about treatment. Staff doesn’t return calls in timely manner. Have had 4 or 5 appointments and never see the Doctor. Keeps changing medications and doesn’t actually treat the problem.

Maybe we all should write the Better Business Board and also the Head of Medical Board. Maybe they wouldn’t be so rude and mean.

I went in and had an issue about who they were sending my lab work to. I was upset because the lab was sending it in to insurance as a8-14 day drug class. I have never been to a drug class and I don’t have a problem with drugs. I even got the toxicologist report back and they said it showed no problems. Which I knew of course. My insurance of course wouldn’t pay for this and I explained to them it wasn’t true. I had even ask my Dr to cut my prescription in half. . I found out when you are older if life insurance companies think you have a drug problem they can cancel you. That is why I ask for my results to show I was fine. I had been asking Dr. Wilkie office to talk to this lab to get this off my paperwork and they never would. I guess the last straw was when I went in and they were going to send back my specimen to the same Lab I was upset. I told them my insurance company said it sounded fishy. I was not going to pay $600 for them to tell another lie. I already talked to them… earlier and they said they had another lab they could send it to. I was in a bad mood by then and I called them stupid. So agree that was wrong and I wrote them and apologized. I told them i am not apologizing because I want to come back there but I shouldn’t call anyone stupid. I was sick that day and I actually threw up on the floor and I apologized about that. A lot more happened . If anyone is thinking about this business you can get in touch with me. I will even show you the paperwork on the lab. If it sounds like I’m angry it isn’t that, I am upset that they really didn’t care and it was my last straw. If I could take it back calling someone stupid. How horrible. I did not act like a good Christian that day . I feel strong about people doing what is right. I’m blessed my insurance company believed me and I didn’t have any repercussions. I am having someone that is writing the BBB and they want to follow up on this. I know there are fantastic Dr’s out therecause I have 3 wonderful Dr’s. Just make sure you keep checking it out and check out reviews.

If you don’t mind being verbally abused by the receptionist, this is the place for you! Staff is horrible. Doctors aren’t that great either. They will hold you prisoner to their rules and ways and in no way “manage” your pain. I had a fulfilling life when I was at another pain doctors office, now I live on my sofa at the whim of Winke Pain Management.

Going here was a waste of gas... horrible patient care . Very callus to spine surgery for the 3rd time. ... very uncaring. Staff is RUDE and the Dictirs make you feel like you are bothering them. Didn’t want narcotic s. Just some help to relieve pain on my 17 yr old daughter that just had her 3rd neuro surgery....I LEFT IN TEARS
