Dr. Bethany Kathlena Hoffman, MD

Doctor Hoffman is the greatest doctor I have ever seen. I have seen her every 3 months for years mainly for my diabetes. I have also seen her for other medical problems and there is no one better than Dr. Hoffman.

Everything bad that people said, is true. She was short, rude, condescending and judgemental. Thank heavens she is not my doctor but had to deal with her because she was the dr on call. I felt like she was going to hang up on me if I said something she disagreed with. Just a rude, uncompassionate woman. Horrible.

When I started at the clinic I saw Dr. Hoffman. At first she was nice, understanding and listened to what I had to say. After about the 5th or 6th visit, she began to be curt with me and when I asked her questions she sometimes laughed! I had asked her if I needed another bone scan and she said "why would you need one?" I told her she had ordered one for me two years prior and her answer to me was "I would have never ordered a bone scan for you at your age." I told her she did order it and she said I was mistaken. I told her to look at my records and she just shook her head no. That was my last visit with her.

I would also agree with the fact Dr. Hoffman doesn't listen, and didn't care about my concerns. I had been concerned with a possible thyroid issue a few years back, and she made me feel as though my concerns were unwarranted, and didn't listen to my symptoms. I requested a full thyroid panel, and she wouldn't do it, stating my levels were fine, though high-normal. Three years later, I have off-the-charts Hashimoto's disease, and this was found by a simple antibody test when I began having significant early onset menapause (I was 33) symptoms. My OBGYN ran a thyroid panel and found it right away. I've been under the care of an endocrinologist ever since. I also had uncomfortable long pauses in my appointment with her, and she looks away as if she's uncomfortable with listening to your concerns. I would seriously reconsider if looking to schedule an appointment with her. I have enjoyed my OBGYN Nurse Practitioner, Kathy Williams' care for years, but would never see or recommend… anyone see Dr. Hoffman. I also hear she is the head of her department, which I find utterly confusing. Maybe she is more of an office or research physician than a care physician (0 bedside manner).

So, I was in need of a NICE and COMPASSIONATE female doctor for certain questions and ailments I had. This doctor was recommended to me by an Aspen staff member. I have been so unimpressed with Aspen's Internal Medicine staff in the past (but all my records are at that clinic) that I thought I would give it a go with this doctor. I LEFT the appointment crying. I felt super uncomfortable and she acted like I had a third head. She kept staring at me with long akward pauses after I would say something that made me feel dumb. I could tell that she does not like her job and is unhappy. Which makes me feel bad, but it is not my fault. I have NEVER complained about a DR in my life, I swear, but I had to write a reveiw. She laughed at my concerns and said "that's not true." Please think twice if you are looking for a doctor that takes time to sit down with you and listen to your concerns/questions. 0 bed-side manner. :(

You can't go wrong with this wonderful Doctor. Look no further if you're in need of someone that really cares about their patients.

If ever there was a Doctor to see this is the one, you cannot go wrong with her , she is a real peach. If she moved state, I swear I would follow her. She is that good, and caring about her patients.
