Dr. Bethany Danielle Lucas, MD

I received a bill in my name $299.52 from Bethany. I have never been seen by her. I have called the billing dept left message and have not received a call back. Now my husband was seen by her. So my husband gets a bill and I get a bill. My husband has pancreatitis. We pretty much know after about 6 pancreatic attacks within the last 3 yrs, what the protocol is. She was going to treat her way which mind you we weren't telling her how to do her job, we were suggesting. She is not a specialist,. I watched my husband in extreme pain and her refusing to listen. She is just assumed that it was alcohol related pancreatitis, so her suggestion " quit drinking". I asked several times if my husband Dr was notified and her response was "yes", to find out he was never notified that he was in the hospital. We pay for medical help and that's what we are suppose to get. I didnt know at the time what she specializes in until later. If the Drs way of treatment is not working then arent they supposed to… consult the patient and come up with a plan that works? She wasn't having it. As a matter of fact she stayed at the nurses station more than she seen patients. I saw her when my husband was admitted and 1 other time during his 3 day stay.. I am not saying that Bethany isnt a good family doctor, I dont know she probably is but as far as working in the hospital probably not. Now you know when released from the hospital how you need to follow up with your Dr.? Well we did,. Upon asking our doctor why he didnt show up at the hospital he said he wasn't notified at all and thats not acceptable as far as I am concerned, especially when hes in the same building as the hospital. Oh and i failed to mention during my husband stay in the hospital he kept telling Bethany that his pancreatic attack wasn't a normal attack something was very different about this attack versus the other 5. She made no attempt to listen to what he was saying. Well that follow up with his Dr upon being released, to find out that problem that he kept telling Bethany, nurses, turned out to be a problem and he was having a gallbladder attack on top of pancreatic attack. Drs are suppose to listen to their patient and try to come up with a plan that makes us better. If the first one don't work then you come up with another, and so on. As far I'm concerned it was Bethanys way or no way at all.

One the most intelligent physicians I've ever had the pleasure to see. Intelligent, compassionate, sympathetic, understanding - she's the whole package!
