Dr. Betsy Mary Palal, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Palal for nearly 10 years. I have issues that require a certain level of care & attention. She has giving me both. It’s so hard to find a caring loving Dr in this town. She genuinely cares about her work, about her patients and their outcomes no matter what she’s going through. She’s a doctor that is healthy. Unlike a lot of doctors that aren’t. Yet, they are there treating you for something they honestly need to be treating themselves for. Her bedside manner is from a divine place that radiates the energy of peace and love. Her presence is irreplaceable. I soon will be leaving from her care. I’m so saddened by this. For there are only a handful of doctors I have that really have made a lasting impression on me and my heart. She has made both. I thank her and trust her to take care of my daughter that now she’s her. I truly appreciate all you have done for Dr. Palal. You truly are irreplaceable and the best endocrinologist I have ever had in my 47 years of living… .

I had an appointment with Dr. Palal, or should I say, her assistant. I was a new patient and met with her assistant who was nice, for about 8 minutes, then FINALLY the doctor came in, only to have met with her for about 5 minutes. She didn't do any physical examination of my thyroid. I was very disappointed so I called back to discuss my feelings. Dr. Palal called me back only to tell me that she did examine my thyroid and that I even said, "Oh, I was wondering when you were going to examine my thyroid." She blatantly lied to me and made me feel like an idiot to tell me that, no, I was the one that is in the wrong. I fought back and forth with her telling her that I know for a fact that she didn't examine me because I called my mom after the appointment to question why the doctor wouldn't have examined me. I understand admitting fault, but to lie to your patient and to make her feel like a moron and that I'm forgetting that the examination actually did happen, is the worst encounter I… have ever experienced. I don't recommend her to ANYONE. Save yourself a visit and meet with a doctor that actually cares about their patients and patient care. What an excuse for a doctor.

Very nice easy to talk to.

I was referred to Dr. Palal from another physician to have my thyroid evaluated after I had objective tests performed showing thyroiditis and a family history of thyroid issues. As a new patient, it would have been nice to have my initial discussion regarding my symptoms and overall health issues with Dr. Palal. Instead, this was done by a Physician's Assistant and/or Medical Assistant (not sure which one) who immediately disregarded my symptoms as thyroid related and untreatable at this time. After my discussion with the PA and/or MA, I overheard her discussing my case and reiterating what she had told me to Dr. Palal outside of the exam room. When Dr. Palal came into the exam room, she again regurgitated what the PA and/or MA had told me at which point I felt fairly defeated and discouraged. I felt like I had been written off from the PA and/or MA from the outset and Dr. Palal had merely adopted whatever the PA and/or MA had said as her own opinion even though we (Dr. Palal and I)… had not discussed my symptoms. I understand that everyone has a different experience and perhaps other patients have had a better experience with Dr. Palal than I did, but I felt compelled to write this review even after I let a few hours go by to see if I felt any differently about the appointment. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Clearly this staff and doctor care more about the $25 cancellation fee than the patient. You cannot make an appointment until you pay this fee if you missed an appointment and did not pay the $25. No matter how ill you might feel.

I am the patient and if I cancel an appointment it is NOT the receptionist buisness nor should she place her opinion about why I am canceling it. I didn't appreciate being questioned or made to feel like a child! I was sick with the flu and figured I shouldn't go in to infect other people around me!

Her staff was very friendly. Well organized office. Dr. Palal was courteous, she listened to my and was not judgmental. I am glad to have found such a competent doctor. I'm sure with her help I can get my diabetes under control.

I would recommend this doctor. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with the many questions I had. She genuinely wanted to help solve my health issues.
