Dr. Betty Lou Anthony, MD

Dr. Anthony is an expert in her field. She is very knowledgeable and her experience is invaluable.

Dr. Anthony made my delivery and postpartum time more traumatic than was necessary. She used harsh words towards the nurse while I was in labor and also used poor judgment about the size of my baby. I ended up with a 9 lb baby who cracked his shoulder coming out and I tore horribly. It took over a year for me to heal from the tear. During the 6 week postpartum check-up I told her how much pain I was in and she was very invalidating. Her response made me feel like I was being whiny and immature. I got a second opinion a few months later and was told that I needed a "re-fashioned" episiotomy. I chose not to have the procedure and allowed my body the time it needed to naturally heal, but I was definitely sewn together wrong. During my six-week check up I also began crying and told the doctor how horrible I felt emotionally. I was very open about my feelings of depression and she once again invalidated me. I told her I never wanted to be intimate with my husband again because I was in so… much pain. She replied with, "You better or he'll leave you!" I could not believe how unsympathetic she was to me while I was experiencing what was diagnosed by a different doctor as postpartum depression. I will never visit this practice again.

Dr. Anthony is the best. She spends time with me at visits, she nver seems rushed. She is so knowledgeable in her area of practice and I completely trust her expertise.

I am writing a review because that is what you need. Sometimes when you move to a new city its hard to find a good Dr. I got lucky. If you are new to the city and searching for a GYN - here is where you wanna be. Painless pap, attentive and professional.

When I went to see Dr.Anthony it was a very difficult time for me since I was in the process of having a miscarriage. The staff was friendly, wait time was short, and Dr.Anthony was wonderful. She was very kind and patient(with all the crying), and consoled me when all was done. She made sure I understood what was going on, as well as gave me a hug and let me know this was not mt fault and that sometimes these things happen. She gave me some time of work to let things run its coarse, and to let me "grieve". She was truly a blessing in my time of need. Also was uninsured because I did not qualify through work yet, so the worked with me charging as low as she could since I was self paying. I would recommend her to any woman for your ob-gyn needs.

She has delivered both of my children and I consider her to be an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She listens and works with you to ensure all goes well. He partner in the practice is very good also.

Dr Anthony delivered my baby and was excellent. She is comforting, caring and has a great bedside manner. She cares about her patients and enjoys what she does. I would highly recommend her!
