Dr. Beverley P Uniacke, MD

Very good Dr. Nurses in the office are good. Office lady named Karen (Mgr?) is not very nice or helpful. She acts like I'm bothering her anytime I ask a question; but most of the other staff is okay. They could smile and be a little friendlier though. I usually have to call for test results because the staff seldom calls me. Beth is very good at her job at check out.

I have been seeing Dr. Uniacke since 1999. Before going to her I had been to 3 doctors who decided some odd symptoms I was having must be panic attacks just because I had them before. I kept telling them that I know what it feels like when I have a panic attack and the feeling this time was different. Dr. Uniacke checked me out, actually listened to me and sent me for a simple test and found out that I had acid reflux and treated me accordingly. The others I had gone to simply brushed me off because once they see "panic attacks" on your record they assume anything you go in for must be an attack. Not so with her. I absolutely love going to her. She's a kind, sympathetic person, and puts you at ease during appointments. I've also gone to her for pap smears and she's made it as pleasant as it can be. Most of her office staff are friendly and easy to deal with (warning, there is 1 who is not). Most times I have gone to see her I have waited 5-10 minutes to get in, sometimes less.… If I make a last minute appointment (say for the flu, or once when I had a bladder infection) the wait time might be a bit longer, especially if you get in right before lunch or at the end of the day. The best times to schedule are early morning or right after lunch. While I don't really like waiting, do know that sometimes you end up waiting because she is taking some extra time with a patient who needs some extra time, and sometimes the patient who needs the extra time and attention is YOU. :)
