Dr. Beverly Elizabeth Gerard, MD

As a board certified gynecologist for over 25 years, I have researched and developed a comprehensive integrated approach to many of the health issues that affect women like menopause, PMS, hypothyroidism, and chronic fatigue as well as many others. At NaturalTherapies.MD I am dedicated to promoting womens' long term wellness with a strong focus on hormone balancing and antiaging with bioidentical hormones, as well as supplements, nutrition, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle. My background and training are not like that of a typical OB/GYN physician. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with Honors in 1973 in History. During the next ten years as a housewife and a mother I took an avid interest in preventative and alternative medicine studying massage, yoga, herbs, nutrition, iridology, homeopathy, and naturopathy. It became apparent to me that conventional medicine did not focus on or promote long term wellness endorsing the preventative lifestyle practices I was …studying. I entered Texas Tech Health Sciences Center medical school in 1983 to become a physician who would be as concerned about improving the health of patients as well as treating illness. After completing my OB/GYN residency in 1991 I had private practices in Austin, Tyler, Fort Worth, and Amarillo, Texas managing gynecologic and hormonal issues with bioidentical hormones and complementary alternative therapies. I did a five year research project in bioidentical hormones and adrenal fatigue through the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. I just recently retired as an Assistant Professor from the OB/GYN Department at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where I did research and taught medical students, residents, and post graduate fellows. In 2013, the OB/GYN residents selected me for a national OB/GYN Excellence in Teaching Award. After moving to Clayton, Georgia I opened NaturalTherapies.MD June 1, 2015. It is a private woman's' wellness and bioidentical hormone counseling practice. It is my goal to give each of my patients the highest level of expertise in their gynecologic healthcare by combining my training in conventional gynecologic medicine with complementary holistic therapies. I a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,the Rabun County Medical Society, and the Clayton Rotary Club. I am an avid gardener, cook, hiker, and yogini. I am the proud mother of four sons and even prouder of my two grandsons.

During the initial NaturalTherapies.MD consultation, I spend an hour personally interviewing and carefully assessing your health concerns and will authorize specialized testing. I spend another hour in your follow up visit explaining my assessment and treatment plan.
