My husband is a Viet Nam Veteran who has been diagnosed with PTSD. He recently saw Ms. Gipson at a VA clinic. During the appointment, she rarely made eye contact with him, did not listen (he stopped mid sentence to see if she would notice and she did not), and was playing a computer game. Ms. Gipson had emoji bingo cards on her desk and was marking them. My husband felt very disrespected and was in worse shape after the appointment than he was prior to seeing Ms. Gipson. She was unprofessional to say the least. Not only does her (in)competency affect the patient but also the family and friends who have to cope with the veteran's mental health. Our veterans deserve better.
