How lucky I was to have Dr. Shaffer do my recent bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction due to cancer. Such a kind, skilled, empathetic woman; her demeanor alone puts you at ease, but more importantly she is clearly an artist when it comes to reconstructive surgery. Having cancer and going in for a bilateral mastectomy was scary enough, but when I woke up post-op she was right there telling me the surgery was over and everything went well; I didn’t have to wait and wonder for a minute! That was just over four months ago now. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Shaffer for the supportive and expert care and treatment I received; I highly recommend her and her office staff is awesome too!

I regret ever trusting her with my body. I don't know where those other reviews are coming from but I paid a whole lot of money to end up with a ton of loose skin after the tummy tuck. I also have 4 dogears and a roaming implant that i have to put back in place ALL DAY LONG. I'm going to have to pay another surgeon to fix what she did to me and I'm so angry and humiliated to look at my own, now useless body.

I had injections at Dr.Shafer's office approximately 1 year ago. From the minute the doctor entered the room, the focus was on "selling" a full facelift for several thousand dollars. Doctor entered with a book full of photos of previous patients that had full face lifts. I didn't ask to see that. That's not what I came there for. (The nurse assistant was very kind and supportive.) I had filler injections, that were very pricey, but I was willing to pay for it. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no change in the creases in my face from day one. NOTHING. Total waste of money. I came back and the doctor said 'that happens sometimes - nothing you can do about it!' Okay - well I just spent over $2,500. on nothing? The attitude was "too bad". I was not happy at all with her. Would not recommend.

It is said that no one can be perfect all the time. A perfect Doctor would always show compassion, be empathic, thorough, attentive, caring, informative, passionate, sympathetic, be top in their field, communicate well, answer questions, and follow up with their patient from the first meeting until the follow up was completed to everyone’s complete satisfaction. I am a 70 year old woman who has seen Dr. Beverly Shafer many times over the years since I was a young girl. Too many to count. I accompanied my mother to Dr. Shafer’s office frequently. At some point I came to Dr. Shafer for my own reasons. I now drive from Maine to Dr. Shafer. Never once in all the years I have known her, in many situations, has she been anything less than the perfect Doctor. All the time. I read reviews that are not kind and wonder who on earth they are talking about. Were these people upset about something totally unrelated and just venting? Having a bad day themselves perhaps? Mean? Rushed? Uncaring?… This is not the Dr. Beverly Shafer that I, and many others know. It is false, and not her way. I feel badly for people who wrote this and had a bad day themselves. Dr. Shafer is top in her field, and a beautiful, warm, caring woman. Inside and out. And she is perfect. All the time. Merrill Savage

I saw Dr Shafer after losing a massive amount of weight. We engaged in the next step of transformation with major contouring surgery. I finally feel like who I really am. She and her excellent team helped me through a long process, several operations and recoveries. I couldn’t have asked for more attention, guidance, compassion and expertise I am extremely grateful for her insights and experience.

I had implants done by Dr Shafter after a double mastectomy and had complications, and do not like how they look. I will be going somewhere else to fix the problems. Bedside manner was so horrible, lots of crying on my end, and they didn't bat an eye. Very abrupt and non caring

Had a tummy tuck and thighs done plus some lipo. Made sure I picked a board certified experienced doctor. I look lumpy and bumpy .....not what I expected for the cost.

Breast Reduction gone VERY bad. Horrible experience. Horrible result. Had to have surgery completely redone by another surgeon (a completely different experience in every way) to try to improve what she did to me. It is better but will never be right because of what she did. Go elsewhere.
