When ask questions, he gets annoyed and starts to stutter. He should definitely not treat cancer patients. He shouldn't be a doctor.

I had my first appointment with Dr Balar this week. I was scared to death! Upon meeting him, my fears vanished. I found him to be warm, receptive to my concerns and answered all my questions. I left his office completely at ease. He was wonderful as were all his staff that I encountered. He’s got 5 stars from me!

I had seen him for swollen lymph nodes and low platelet count and I found that he wasn't very receptive to my concerns and didn't take my concerns very seriously either. He also has a very severe speech impediment which made getting through the appointment very difficult on top of that I received a bill from his practice even though my insurance covers it 100%.

I saw him years ago and he didn't really seem to take my concerns seriously I definitely would not recommend them he also has a very severe speech impediment which makes grinding through the appointment kind of difficult

I had my first meeting with Dr. Balar today. He spent about 30 minutes with me. My appointment was at 12:15 and I met with him at 12:15! He was knowledgeable, informative, thorough, warm, and kind. While I didn’t expect to need a hematologist, I am glad I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Balar. As for the staff that do everything from scheduling to patient care, I could not have been more impressed. The staff run an efficient practice for the doctors and, more importantly, the patients.

Dr. Balar recently started caring for my 92 year old mother. He was thorough with all of his explanations and was totally honest about all of strategies he felt would implement in her care. He is not sending her for anything extra that would not change or benefit her condition and just truly wants her to remain as happy and strong as she is at the present time. Previous specialist prescribed meds that would interact with the care of her heart so the switch to Dr. Balar was a blessing. He has a lot of patience and treats my mother with the utmost respect and his hours are very convenient for me as I accompany her on all her visits. We are very pleased and the staff is very nice too. Glad we found him. Joanie - Marlboro NJ

Dr. Balar and his staff provided a balance of care that I needed. He was caring and compassionate and each person on his staff had a different personality, but it all blended well. Yes, the treatment room was open and not quiet, but it did it's job. The nurses and all that assist were great. They certainly do not have an easy job tending to all the patients and their personalities (with some not being patients not being so patient, but understandably because it is not easy for us, too, and we sometimes take our stress out on them...). It was not an easy experience to have to go through, but I was very comfortable at this office and under the care of Dr. Balar.

Thank GOD we went w/ our gut & transferred my husband's cancer care FROM Balar. The day after our visit w/ Balar, our new oncologist diagnosed my husband w/ Pulmonary Embolism & blood clots in both legs. Also, the cancer was more advanced/metastasized than what Balar said. His chemo center looked dirty, cramped & understaffed. It appeared to lack individual/comprehensive care & dignity. As Balar told my husband, quote, "you're not special." That sums it up! (though I could share more details about our horrific experience.) How shameful & appalling!

Doesn't call back, insist on making visit, sit on test results. Very unprofessional

I got a great feeling about Dr. Balar, he was very informative, kind and caring. He made me feel very at ease, and I can say, one of the nicest doctors I have ever encountered.
