Dr. Bhavna Bhat, MD

I have been a patient at Wake Internal Medicine for over 20+yrs and a patient of Dr. Bhat for 15+yrs. She is a good listener and follows through on tests. It is not often that doctors or their Nurses contact the patient with the results but this one does! I like not having to solely rely on a document that has been uploaded to a patient portal. I want personal attention and the ability to speak directly to the healthcare provider especially if the issue is serious. I do not feel rushed when explaining my health concerns and I feel like Dr. Bhat truly cares for her patients. She is patient and kind and actually takes the time to explain why the tests and course of treatments are required. She has treated various health issues for me and I trust her wholeheartedly with my healthcare. I have recommended her to various friends and they all have the same perception and thanked me for recommending her.

Dr Bhat and her stuff are friendly and welcoming at first. However, she really didn’t help me nor address my issues. I saw Dr Bhat twice. Both times I felt she was dismissive of my symptoms and a little patronizing. Both time I ended up being treated by specialists instead. Both times I needed antibiotics. Because of we use a high deductible insurance plan, both bills were close to $300-400 for literally a short chat with a Dr Bhat that acted like I was exaggerating.

Dr. Bhat has been my primary care physician for almost 5 years and I feel very lucky to have her. Not only is she kind and easy to talk to but she also take a proactive approach to my care. She is cautious and would rather be safe than sorry which is exactly how I want my doctor to be. My visits with her are always prompt and efficient. The nicest part of having her as my Doctor is that I know she genuinely cares about me and my health.

This doctor is HORRIBLE and Wake Internal Medicine is Horrible. Mark Johnson and Wake Internal Medicine does not care how their patients are treated. I went to this doctor seeking help (a referral) because my Neurologist was closing his pratice. I had been seeing my current physician since 2008. My current physcisican was not offering referrals. She was not the LEAST bit interested in listening to the reason that I came to her office or the problems I was having and had a very nasty tone and attitude. When I expressed my displeasure about the treatment that I was receiving from her, she scowled at me and then began lectured me about how internal medicine works. When you are having a problem and you go to see a doctor about that problem shouldn't they be interested in your symptoms and the problems you are having? I have never been treated so poorly by a physician. She had a permenant scowl on on her face when I tried to talk to her and tell her why I was at her office and what I… needed. I felt I was being bullied. So in the middle of our conversation I walked out of her office. I tried to complain to the office staff about her behavior (and believe me nothing I said to any of the office staff was out of line or inappropriate or unacceptable). A week later I get home and there is a certified letter in the mail from Mark Johnson saying I was "discharged from service" (like I ever had any intention of going back to her). The purpose of the letter was obviously to "get the last word" and "antagonize" me. If you are a doctor and you can not accept feedback from your patient about how they feel you are treating them, you should not be in business. The unprofessionalism of Dr. Bhat and Wake Internal Medicine is unbelievable. Stay AWAY from both Dr, Bhat and Wake Internal Medicine

This woman is HORRIBLE. Rude, hateful, insensitive. It was not a doctor's visit, it was a police interrogation. NO people skills whatsoever. She wanted to talk about everything but what actually brought me to her office. And when I challenged her she scowled at me and lectured me. Then when I tried to complain to office staff at Wake Internal Med they made me out to be the bad person. PLEASE stay away from this woman. She SHOULD NOT be practicing medicine. I ended up having to go to urgent care and got WAY BETTER treatment than what I got from her, which is pathedic.

I have had two visits with Dr. Bhat, and she has been extremely attentive and friendly both times. It is difficult to schedule an appointment with her for unexpected health issues, however. She is good about repeating what she hears you explain about any concerns, and is a very good listener, yet she tends to read the diagnoses from her computer without much more insight than I could find from an Internet search. She comes across as competent, but perhaps not very aggressive in exploring concerns. She will take your lead in how much you want to pursue an ailment, but is not one to push for treatment or diagnosis.

Dr. Bhat actually listens and remembers ME! I don't have to prompt her about my history. She knows ME and takes the time to read my chart and I don't feel like an assembly line patient. My yearly physicals are important to me and I like knowing that my doctor feels the same way that I do. I have been a patient at WIMC for several years and will remain there as long as Dr. Bhat is there. She takes a preventative approach, orders the right tests the FIRST time, and follows up very promptly. I feel confident that I have the best family doctor for me and my daughter. I like her nurse Theresa M. too. WIMC is a one-stop shop!

Dr. Bhat is the most caring, thorough doctor I have had. I only wish she worked 5 days a week.

She is a very good caring doctor. I found her to be very professional in all her medical duties. I think anyone would be glad to have her looking out for your health and medical needs.
