Dr. Bijan Safai, M.D, D.SC, is an Internationally recognized Dermatologist in NYC where he is known as a Skin Cancer specialist for his expertise and research associated with Skin Cancers, Melanomas, Sarcomas, and Lymphomas of the Skin.
Dr. Safai has vast experience in solving complex medical conditions of the skin that are not easy to diagnose and treat. Due to his accomplishments in the field of Immunology of the Skin and Skin Cancers; Dr. Safai is often consulted by other dermatologists for his opinion related to these issues.
Dr. Safai has been Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at New York Medical College for the past 30 years. He has revived that program and has trained over 100 dermatologists.
He has kept up to date not only to provide the latest therapeutic development to his patients, but to be able to train his students, residents, and fellows with the cutting-edge dermatologic advances and innovations.
…Before that, Dr. Safai established for the first time, Dermatology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and served as Chief of Dermatology Service and Director of the Research Program for over 19 years.
For decades, Dr. Safai has devoted his career to scientific research, and to the education and training of medical students, over one hundred residents, and future dermatologists. He has proudly received several awards including the Humanitarian Award from the Melanoma Research Foundation for his lifelong work in Melanoma.
Dr. Safai has been included repeatedly in New York Magazine's "Best Doctor's" issues and has been selected by Castle Connolly as one of the New York Metro Area's Top Doctors.
