Dr. Bill Earl Hukill, DO

missed one appointment and was immediately dropped to to a miscommunication with the receptionist. then she was extremely rude and lied about the circumstances! will tell everyone i know not to go here. even the first visit felt rushed like he was more interested in getting patients through then listening to them.

We are looking for new doctors they never check us in sometimes. We were there just for a B shot. And still waited 15 minutes. Last time I waited 20 minutes and took the last patient that was there first so I left

Dr. Hukill took time to dig deeper into an issue I was having during a wellness exam. He could have dismissed it because it wasn't life threatening or even too serious, but he knew it was a concern to me. I've been his patient for years and he knows I'm a runner. He diagnosed my issue and I've been running with peace of mind ever since. He can be frank at times, but I appreciate that and his honesty. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my health care.

I've been a patient of Dr. Hukill for several years and have always received excellent care from him and his staff.

I read a comment that's not true, anytime I've asked to be seen by him, Dr. Hukill has went out of his way to see me. I know that he's by far not a pill pusher, and the reason you wait is because he spends the same amount of time with each patient because he cares about them

I started seeing Dr. Hukill when he first started practicing. He was the most excellent doctor that I had ever had. I had a debilitating disease when I first came to him and he was always kind, understanding, caring and knowledgeable from day one. Shoot, he even called me after hours a few times (himself) to answer questions or concerns that I had about my own condition or something that was going on with one of my 3 sons. This all changed, however, after about 8-9 years into his own practice. Then, it became all about the money for him. The waiting room time of 10-15 minutes inched up to 45 minutes to over an hour (then another 20-30 minutes waiting in the exam room for him to even come in) while the time he spent with his patients dwindled. He started double and triple booking appointments. (Talk to the other patients in the waiting room if you decide to go to him and see how many of them have the same appointment time as you do!) Then, it began to feel like you were just cattle… being herded through. One nurse would call you back to a chair in the back corner to take your vitals then send you BACK out to the waiting room only to wait some more until you were called back to actually see the doctor. Oh! And now if you have an appointment for one issue but you remember something that you need to have checked out, that's just too bad. You'll have to make another appointment for that because he doesn't have the time to do more than one thing per visit. Before he started 'timing' the actual time he spent with you he would check out any other issue that you brought to his attention. You could hand him a list with 3 or 4 questions and he would always take the time to answer them or explain something. He would ask how the kids were, or even just ask to see how you were 'doing' in general. Those days are gone. And that is really sad because he is a truly good doctor. He will not even answer any questions about any other concerns you may have other than what you are there about for that current appointment. You now have to make another appointment and come back for any other issues. I had to stop working because I needed back surgery. I couldn't stand nor sit in one position longer than 10 minutes. But since I was newly unemployed and new to disability, I had no insurance until my medicare kicked in months later. But his first question when he walked into the room every single time was "What date is your back surgery?" Here I was with a hard to treat disease with disc problems on top of it all, bed-ridden except for doctors appointments and he made me feel belittled for not having set an appointment for my back surgery! As if I 'wanted' the back pain on top of the other issues I had going on and I just wasn't having it done because I didn't want to. I had no insurance, I was going through a divorce, had no money in savings but yet it was my fault that I wasn't having the surgery done. I was the one stalling on purpose! As soon as my medicare and insurance kicked in and I had my back surgery, I found another doctor. Again, Dr. Hukill is a good doctor, he truly is. I just believe that he became so money hungry that he cared more about that than his actual patients. (He once told me that he "wanted to be able to retire at an early age". Well, how do you do that? Make enough money where you are able to.) He and I had a wonderful relationship throughout the years. I had loved having him as a doctor and had always felt very confident being in his care. But I wouldn't recommend him to anyone now. Luckily, I found another doctor who has been in practice the same amount of time that Dr. Hukill has but who still has the character of a decent, caring, competent doctor. He does not double book, the longest I've ever waited to be seen is 10 minutes (and never more than 2-3 minutes once I'm back in an exam room), he will address all of my concerns in that one visit even if I think of something while I am sitting right there, and he will go back and check my last 1-2 visits to make sure that any recommendations or doctors orders have been followed and the result of them. AND... he will only accept a certain amount of patients so he doesn't end up where Hukill has fallen short. My doctor will only accept a new patient off the waiting list when an opening becomes available and the waiting list is very long. As for Dr. Hukill's staff. I believe that they do the best they can although you can tell that they are exhausted most of the time. Charlotte, who runs the office, is wonderful. But she is over-worked and stretched to the limit. Many of the things a regular doctor would do themselves (which he used to do himself) is now put on her along with all of her regular, plus, plus, plus duties. She is wonderful though. I just truly hope that he understands what a treasure she is because if she left, I don't know what he would do. That office would fall apart. So, I give his office staff (the ones that don't leave) a lot of kudos for sticking it out with him. My apologies for the length of this but I feel it's only fair when looking for a new doctor that you get as many detailed reviews as you possibly can.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Bill Hukill since he started practice. He listens to your concerns and addresses those concerns. He is kind, courteous and has made decisions that have saved my husbands life. He follows me through my health probems and his guidance helps keep my on track. He showed understanding and educated us when it was discovered that our family has a genetic disorder that I had never heard of. His staff is courteous and friendly. I rate him as an excellent doctor. I Trust him fully and respect his judgment in all my families health care.

Dr. Hukill only cares about money - not patients. He is a pill pusher who is not up to date in the most advanced medical care for chronic conditions. You will always wait 45 minutes - 1 and a half hours in the waiting room. He only has one good nurse. Find another doctor - you'll do yourself a favor.

I'm glad I found a nice and caring Doctor in Davison. I would recommend him.
