Dr. Bill Harold Mc Carberg, MD

My husband passed away in 1993. I began having many medical problems immediately following his passing. I knew I needed to see a doctor. I had Kaiser insurance and I dreaded getting out there to find the “Best” doctor. My husband had cancer and we had seen nearly every doctor in the Kaiser system imaginable and in every capacity for the past 3 years. Not one of them would be someone I’d want to see again. I could barely walk and realized I needed a doctor right away. I sat in my oversized chair and prayed about it. Got the appointment, was sitting in the exam room and an angel walked in. (I’m sure he wouldn’t see it that way), but I did. He asked what I was there for and how he could help me. I explained my husband had just passed away and he just let me talk. (And cry)! He was so full of compassion and understanding. The most kind man I’ve ever known. Thirty minutes into my visit, I almost forgot what I had come for. He diagnosed me and in spite of my not wanting to believe the… diagnosis, he was 100% right. 10 years later, my son got cancer. In spite of my taking him out of the Kaiser system and all the years he nearly lived at City of Hope, Dr. McCarberg called him almost every week to check on him. What doctor does this? Over the years, he was my mentor for so many situations that arose throughout my life. My kids and I have truly been so blessed to have this wonderful man in our lives. May God bless him as he has blessed so many others! He is a true gift from above!

Dr McCarberg is genuine and acring Doctor

Thorough, compassionate, fair, respectful, inspiringâ??these are the words that come to mind when I think of Dr. McCarberg. For  two years I struggled to find a doctor who could do something to help my condition. The results I got were at best discouraging, and, at worste, completely incapacitating as I watched my life crumble down around me. Then, I was referred to Dr. McCarberg. Not only did he help find a treatment that improved my condition, he restored my hope of having a future worth living. Some people are doctors because they went to medical school, and some are doctors because they have a deep and genuine drive to help people live better lives. When you're with Dr. McCarberg, it's clear he's in the latter group. I just wish I would have found him two years ago!

Dr. McCarberg has been my doctor for over 25 years and the man has a very loving an caring bedside manner. I've yet to meet any doctor like him. I was with him when he started his pain management classes in San Diego an he valued my opinion on the class and how it effected me. I have seen alot of doctors in my life and no one can hold a candle to him.

Some say that Kaiser sucks - they have not experienced Dr. McCarberg! He is incredible and exceptional. He has been my MD for many years and despite my move away from his clinic area, I always make the 30 mile drive to see him for any serious problem!!!!
