Dr. Birenkumar Rajandrakumar Patel, MD

I had the unfortunate interaction with this physician on a TeleMed service through the emergency room in North Carolina This neurologist had behavior that was horrific witnessed by two RNs in my patient room. Both RNs apologized profusely for his behavior unfortunately, the hospital doesn’t have a Neuro He was arrogant dismissive and even wrote that I didn’t pass my stroke protocol assessment when I passed it perfectly He made himself to be more than he was, and even my own personal neurologist, completely disagreed with him and asked me to leave the emergency room and report to her office the next day due to this so-called doctor and his ridiculous assessment Even the ER doctor apologized to me, but they have no choice but to deal with this remote service Be very aware if you deal with him, you might need a second third and fourth opinion. The RN’s taking care of me complimented me on How I handled this buffoon with grace, but he certainly didn’t deserve it! His behavior is also… very unacceptable. He really doesn’t need to be a doctor dealing with patients. Perhaps a better job would be working in a lab behind closed doors where you don’t deal with patients I wouldn’t let this man take care of my dog!

Came into the room with an attitude. Did not let me speak a complete sentence, kept interrupting me and talking over me, so the issues I was there for we're not taking care of. He was rude, unprofessional, and extremely disrespectful. And refused to change his attitude or approach things a different way. Instead he belittled me and and wouldn't let me speak. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. He shouldn't even have the title of being a doctor that's how poor his patient treatment is

Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful. Asks questions yet doesn't give you the chance to answer. When he does allow you to speak he talks over you, so he's not listening. Worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy, absolutely horrible physician

This is the second neurologist I have seen, the first was dr. hughes who did a thorough exam but did not have the best bedside manner and never contacted me after I contacted his office multiple times. However, Dr. Patel had very respectful bedside manner, was thorough in is physical exam as well as asked many questions to understand what's going on and went into detail of what is going on with me, he even drew a picture to help me understand and spent a long time making sure I understood. I have seen many different doctors to figure out what's causing me so much pain and he is the ONLY one who actually told me there are some issues and what I need to do/who I need to see to figure out what is causing my pain. I am so thankful he is a doctor and cares about helping get me back to a normal life.
