Dr. Bita Shakoory, MD

Of al the Doctors who have seen me over the years at the Birmingham VAMC, Dr, Shakoory did more for me than any other Doctor.I suffer from a disease called DISH and am affected to a far greater degree than normal.Every other doctor that I had seen offered no hope and offered no treatment what-so-ever.Dr. Shakoory however, did not give up on me. She worked not only to help me have a at least a better quality of life but searched and contacted other researchers to find a means to ease as much of my pain as possible.She is no longer with the BVAMC so I am told by them, so I fear that I will be back to square one.There will likely not be another Dr. Shakoory to pass my way.If you are a fortunate enough to have her care for you, you will find that she does not treat you like a face passing in the wake.If you are her patient, then you are important to her.If every Doctor that has been assigned to my case had the care, concern and ability that Bita Shakoory has, I would have been living a… much better quality of life years ago.
