very worthwhile visit

Having worked as a health care administrator for 45 years, I have not observed or been cared for by a more competent and approachable physician. He is thorough and communicates with great clarity.

Although the fact that I had previously had one kidney surgically removed was in my medical history and I had told him so when he had treaded me once before, he told me he was giving me this method to prepare for my colonoscopy that would be easier than what I'd had before. I reminded him about my kidney, and he quickly pulled these cute little bottles off his desk and said I should use the method I used before. I learned later that the product he was planning to give me could cause acute kidney injury. He knew from my records and my earlier colonoscopy that I am allergic to sulfur drugs and penicillin. He should certainly have had my lack of a kidney highlighted as well. And even if he didn't, why would he present this product without also discussing its drawbacks.

the office never sent in a prior authorization and then proceeded to sue me for the amount of money that the insurance refused to cover for the anesthesiologist

Thanks to Dr Lewis my colonoscopy was in every way less of a big deal than I expected and than my friends reported theirs had been. The dreaded prep was pretty much fine, and the after affects from the anesthesia nonexistent.
