Dr. Blake Lamonte Ohlson, MD

I have never received such detailed information about the options available to me to avoid surgery. His insights and willingness to work with me were very much appreciated.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ohlson. Years ago, he stepped in to help my daughter after she suffered injuries from another doctor's surgery that went horribly wrong. If it were not for Dr. Ohlson and his immediate action and fantastic medical care, my daughter might still be in a wheelchair to this day. Also, Dr. Ohlson has been treating me personally. He is smart, decisive, supportive, and an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I highly recommend him.

Very friendly staff, and Dr. Ohlson is very understanding and knowledgeable. I can't imagine a better experience!

3 weeks Post-Op, My legs hurts more now than pre surgery. This doctor thinks he's God, when it's actually clod. He doesn't listen, talks like he is the only one in the room and professes to know what you're feeling thinking. He also is condescending and dismissive when you do get a word in. I am going to file with LLR and the medical examiners board. I had double meniscus surgery and from day one he felt the need to reprimand me about the Rona Vax (even though I am double Vaxed) rather than deal with my injury. I asked for something for the pain and he said I was "raising red flags" and refused to provide pain relief, (against his medical mandate by the way). At 1 week post op I called telling him I had not gotten to sleep more than 2 hours because of the pain in my entire leg. He dismissed me completely, (oh, I'm a "red flag drug addict" so no pain meds now either). At my 2 week post op he cut both stiches and did no other examination of my leg. I appeased his need for adoration and… stroked his petty ego and left. 3 weeks later I had to call and ASK for a PT, after knee surgery? Are You KIIDING? He SUCKS! I also agree with other patient reviews. He smells, is disheveled and dirty and even stooped low enough to blame his friends ALS diagnosis for his reason to have me wait TWO HOURS past my appointment time to see him. In contrast, I was 11 minutes late to my imaging (because they closed the entrance they gave me directions to because of Rona?) and after limping 3 city blocks to get to the other entrance they rudely told me to leave and go home and reschedule. He's pathetic. Trust your care to someone who does. OH PS, He ILLEGALLY told me to leave my SERVICE ANIMAL HOME! He is an unethical and unprincipled jerk.

Never again Was one hour and 45 minutes late in seeing me and everyone else. Rushed in eating a sandwich and wearing a filthy lab coat. He may be a good surgeon but I'll take my needs to Shane Woolf at MUSC. Rude, condescending (I have a PhD- you can call me Doctor,) and quite obviously forget his Hippocratic Oath. He should be investigated or at the very least remanded by the SC Board of Medicine. Perhaps he should have been a vet. He's got the personality of an a$$.

Post traumatic OA had devastated my left ankle. Could not walk a block. Dr. Ohlson replaced it with a prosthetic, 1hr, 45 min surgery. Home that day. Absolutely no complications and my recovery went much faster that expected. I am walking, golfing, hunting and anything else I want to do. He is THE MAN!!

Professional, compassionate, smart - Have seen him for ankle and foot care over the last 4 years. I was treated for a severe bunion and the surgery eliminated all the pain and discomfort in that foot! Amazing! Best surgeon, have referred others to him for that procedure and they had same experience as I did!

Dr Ohlson took time out of his busy foot and ankle practice to speak with me on two different occasions. The first was to address some calf pain Ive been dealing with for over a year. Dr Ohlson took the time to hear about my symptoms and then address my concern. He was spot on with the diagnoses and treatment plan. It has been two months since our discussion and I’m pain free! The second one was for my child who had some foot trouble. Dr Ohlson took the time to look and address my concerns. The problem was resolved and he was accurate again. I trust him with my family and would go back to see him.

We too waited nearly an hour to be seen after being rescheduled from morning to aftn, to accommodate this drs needs. His appearance was poor, he was very abrupt and arrogant, and he did not wish to answer my questions re surgery on my recent foot fracture. We sought a second opinion the next day@MUSC Ortho. Extremely glad we did! I am now doing quite well.
