My experience has been exceptional. I was in a very difficult situation and was trying to navigate health insurance options to find an in network provider. Unfortunately the system is abysmal, and most providers were telling me it would be months before I could get in. I truly was concerned about my physical health due to stress and anxiety so I decided to go out of network and Dr Taggart was able to get me into his office in a much more palatable amount of time. Since then I have found considerable help, and feel my concerns have been heard and addressed. We worked together to come up with a plan we both agreed on, and I was comfortable with. I had concerns I would be over or under medicated, but that has not been the case. I am able to perform a high stress, high functioning career and my overall health has measurable improvement. We also addressed some lifestyle changes that have helped considerably as well, not just pharmaceutical solutions. Overall my experience has been quite… positive, and even though time has passed, I still see Dr Taggart on a maintenance basis.

Dr. Taggart treated our twin daughters with a level of care, compassion, and expertise that far exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, he established a deep sense of trust with our entire family. He had an incredible ability to meet them where they were emotionally and developmentally, using play therapy in a way that was not only effective, but also made our daughters feel seen, heard, and safe. What truly sets Dr. Taggart apart is the way he includes the whole family in the healing process. Although our daughters were his patients, he provided us with thoughtful, insightful guidance that empowered us to support their growth and emotional well-being. We never felt judgedonly supported, respected, and heard. He explained things clearly, offered practical strategies, and was always attentive to our questions and concerns. His warmth, intuition, and clinical wisdom made a profound difference in our lives. We feel so fortunate to have found him and could not recommend him… more highly to any family seeking compassionate, intelligent, and holistic mental health care for their children.

We met Dr Taggart during a difficult time for our family. Our son had seen a number of therapists, but none of them had been able to properly diagnose the situation or help us manage it better. We had heard good things about Dr Taggart, but he wasn't accepting new patients. We pleaded our case and he agreed to take our son on as a patient. His training, experience, and intuition allowed him to see our son differently and properly diagnose the situation. He has a quirky sense of humor and pokes fun at himself. This puts his patients (and their parents) at ease. He is very approachable. If you ran into Dr. Taggart on the street, you would never know that he is an accomplished psychiatrist with impeccable credentials. He has deep understanding of medications and best practices and stays current through reading and research. He did a great job explaining how medications worked and what the effects could be. Dr Taggart also connected us with a group of parents that were in similar… situations to ours. That helped us understand that we were not alone and that there is only so much you can do in trying to fix someone else. We are grateful that Dr. Taggart helped our family through an incredibly difficult time and that the positive results have lasted.

Dr. Taggart is a great doctor and a very wise mentor. He mentored me at Yale with my child and adolescent psychiatry training and continues to be very helpful and resourceful . I highly recommend him to be your physician.

Dr. Taggart is truly one-of-a-kind. He listens attentively and there is no doubt that he genuinely cares about all his patients. He provides a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to reflect and grow, and knows precisely when a gentle push is needed. I always felt supported under his care, and he was instrumental in helping me overcome my social anxiety and navigate a challenging time in my life. He prioritizes his clients' wellbeing over the clock, and allows the sessions to reach a natural conclusion rather than cutting you off mid-thought when time is up. I am extremely grateful to have been under the care of Dr. Taggart and cannot recommend him enough.

Dr. Taggart is an outstanding psychiatrist. He takes the time to review the medicines he prescribes with the patient and family on a white board in order to ensure that everyone understands the potential side effects and potential benefits of the newly prescribed medicine. This is one of the many ways in which he places the patient's needs first. He is highly skilled in Psychopharmacology. He makes sure that he prescribes the best available medicine for the patient at all times. Overall, Dr. Taggart is a great listener. He spends an inordinate amount of time making certain that the patient's needs are meet without regard to the amount of time that it might take to achieve the necessary task. In his field of medicine, there are few objective diagnostic tests. He utilizes great subjective analysis to meet the needs of his patients. Dr. Taggart began treating my son in private practice in 2002 when he was 7 years of age. He was diagnosed to be on the Autism Spectrum. Due to the nature of… his illness, he was a very difficult patient. Through his tireless efforts, Dr. Taggart guided my son through his teenage years and beyond. My son graduated with a bachelor's degree and is presently working and living independently as a result of the guidance, caring and sound medical advice of Dr. Taggart. He is highly skilled, and extremely competent in talk therapy even with young children. I would highly recommend Dr. Taggart to anyone in need of his services. In addition to being an outstanding Psychiatrist, he is a caring, kind, and compassionate Doctor who will go the extra mile to help each of his patients. He is simply one of a kind.

Dr. Taggart is one of the best adolescent psychiatrists out there. He is highly skilled at talk therapy which is very rare for a psychiatrist. He was so generous with his time, probably to his detriment, but he did not cut you off at 45 or 50 minutes. He always gave his patients the time they needed. He saved my daughter when she was going through a difficult time and she was devastated when he moved. It's been a few years now and we have not been able to find another psychiatrist that even comes close to the skill, care, and human kindness which Dr. Taggart offered. I have spoken to other parents and even the high school counselor about finding a new therapist and how sad my family was to lose Dr. Taggart only to find out that many other kids in the high school are at a loss without him. The country has a shortage of Adolescent psychiatrists and an even greater shortage of good ones. I keep hoping that he will come back to CT to practice. He is a special breed of doctor who helped… so many kids off the ledge and there is no one here who even comes close.

Dr. Taggart saw me for almost 10 years for medication management and therapy. He quickly aided me in overcoming my panic attacks when I first had them. Dr. Taggart is very knowledgable and understands the science and therapeutic practices to help individuals in need. I highly recommend Dr. Taggart!
