I practice oral and maxillofacial surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and I am an active member of the cleft and craniofacial programs. My curiosity about craniofacial anomalies began while I was a student at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. I was awarded a Milton Fund from Harvard Medical School to study the psychosocial development of children with major craniofacial anomalies. This work won First Prize in the American Dental Association/Dentsply Student Clinician Contest. In my first year of practice I was awarded the Fred A. Henny Fellowship from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation. The stipend was used to fund a project that assessed facial growth with Single Photon Emission Computer Tomography. At the national level I have been asked to be a board examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. I am involved in developing and authoring education materials for the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery, specifically pediatric, cleft …and craniofacial surgery. I have written several chapters for Knowledge Updates, a self study program, as well as editing a section on pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery. I have been asked by the editorial board of the Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal to write questions pertaining to articles printed in the journal which allow readers to obtain continuing medical education (CME) credits.

Dr. Padwa did a fantastic job fixing my jaw. My lifelong underbite is now gone, and all my teeth actually meet when I bite! The recovery is not an easy process but I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.

My experience with Dr. Padwa in the Oral Surgery clinic was great. I brought my son who has a complicated medical history for evaluation of his wisdom teeth two months ago. Dr. Padwa and her staff were all very knowledgeable and supportive. I was absolutely certain that my son was in good hands and that he was receiving the best care possible. Thank you Dr. Padwa!

We would highly recommend Dr. Padwa as a gifted surgeon with wonderful bedside manner. Her office staff is very friendly and I was impressed by their patience and willingness to go the extra mile in getting back to me promptly with questions/concerns we had. Waiting time minimal,

Our visit to Dr. Padwa's office was extremely frustrating. We never even saw the doctor when we visited. One of her associates came in, Horrible bedside manner. She never said hello or even acknowledged my 4 year old son. She never even looked in my son's mouth and said "you need to see a dentist" when I explained that the teeth had been lodged into his gums from an accident. I'm now looking at a $250 bill (not to mention parking and cost of missing work) for absolutely nothing.

My son was seen recently for his wisdom teeth by Dr. Padwa. I was extremely impressed by the quality of care I received by the Doctor and her staff at the Boston Children's Hospital. I was very happy with our overall experience and I would happily refer friends and family to her office. No better place to have your child's wisdom teeth out!

My daughter has been a patient for many years. She recently had her four wisdom teeth extracted. Dr. Padwa is the BEST !!!! We couldn't be happier with the care she received. Dr. Padwa is not only an excellent oral surgeon - she is an excellent human being - caring and goes above and beyond for her patients !!!!!

My son has a very complicated orthodontic problem that is going to require major surgery and I would say that after a consult with Dr. Padwa I would never go back, nasty and lacking empathy are the two words that I would use. Children's Hospital could do a lot to address these issues, good surgery is fine, but there are complicated decisions to be made and she should not be allowed to practice in the manner she does. For shame, Children's Hospital.
