Dr. Bonnie C Pollack, MD

Poor bedside manner, and not a good listener. Not helpful! Very conventional. Shows no compassion or concern. Off putting and unapproachable. Does not like to address more than one thing per visit. All my previous doctors had no problem addressing more than one thing per visit.

I have never met a doctor with such poor communication skills. She was mechanical, interruptive ("anything else?"), and made virtually no eye contact during my first (and last) appointment with her. She is likely a skilled physician, but her lack of reasonable communication skill does not reflect any concern nor care nor any real interest in the patient. She seems to have agendas that she articulates (insistently and forcefully so) often. She is condescending; at one point, when I rejected taking a medication that I don't currently need, her response was "You're an adult, so you can make your own decisions." I am 63 years old, so um...yeah, I guess I am an adult. She mumbles, and rapidly, so I had a hard time understanding her. By the end of that first visit, I was irritated and uncomfortable. I am managing several chronic conditions and believe in taking charge of my care with my PC physician as an equal partner in my care. There is no way I could do this with this particular… physician. I am disappointed about this, because I specifically chose this provider and her clinic after being with another clinic and another provider. I have already transferred my care to another PC on the same team, after only one visit with Dr. Pollack. I regret to say that I cannot recommend Dr. Pollack to any new patient coming into her practice.

I'm surprised at these reviews so I wanted to give a positive review. These other reviews had me nervous to see her! Dr. Pollack was extremely thorough and listened to all of my family history and concerns. She did a very thorough exam and answered all of my questions. She was considerate of insurance/billing, and gave me my lab results within 24 hours. There was no judgment even when I had to explain some past medical issues. I was very nervous due to some health concerns, and now I feel like I'm in very good hands and will be taken care of.

She also laughs at you if you use a word incorrectly. She doesn't even let you finish w/what your issues are before she's claiming she knows just what is wrong w/you. I had a female doctor, Mary Pugsley for 18 years. I'm sorry but Bonnie is a very poor substitute. OMG runs their clinics like businesses now and medical issues are secondary. I had a physical scheduled and they tried to just give me a 'Medicare' talking 'physical' and when I insisted? She, Bonnie, was resentful the whole time. I would NOT recommend Bonnie Pollack to any female. Thank you.

Dr. Pollack has been my PC Doctor for over 24 years. I keep going to see her because she is a caring person, and consistently advises practices that promote general good health. I trust Dr. Pollack to give me good advice. She does not hurry through visits. I appreciate her approach to good health.

Flu shots and vaccines... she’s good for everything a nurse could help you with and is obviously knowledgeable in that regard. For family check-ups or school exams I’m sure she’s great. However she has her own objective and is hard to speak with. She redirects the conversation so you cover what she wants to cover, and not your concerns. I’m not a pot smoker so I found it especially funny that she went in depth to talk to me about how many of her patients smoke pot and her particular view on it. Not only was this a waste of my personal time, if you do smoke pot, I can’t imagine she is unbiased enough to see your issues.

I went to Dr. Pollack on a recommendation from a friend who likes her very much. I found her to be distant and unengaged with me as a person. Her social skills/bedside manner was very poor: She mumbled much of what she said and I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times, there was little eye contact and she didn't respond to many things I said to give her an idea of what my condition was. I don't have an opinion of her medical skills because she simply did a few physical tests (chronic pain) and that was pretty much it. Most of the time was spent answering questions for her to put in the computer. True, my issue is best dealt with by a physical therapist and I mainly came for a basic assessment and referral. But still, I won't be going back as she's not my cup of tea.

Bonnie Pollock is a gem in my book. She always takes the extra time to listen and goes the extra mile for us when we see her She acts as though we are her only clients and makes sure we understand and she is tactful and caring.In short, we love Bonnie Pollock.

Dr. Pollack seems very uninterested, especially if the patient isn't into yoga and other holistic types of activities. I felt as though I was just wasting her time.
