Brad Chvatal, DMD, MS
My profession is incredibly important to me—and so are my patients. I love providing healthy, beautiful smiles for each person who comes to see me, while also building meaningful connections with the great people in our community.
Education
Prior to becoming an orthodontist, I attended the University of Arizona for my Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I then earned my DMD from Oregon Health and Sciences University and my Master’s of Science in Oral Biology and Certificate of Orthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry.
Continuing Education
As an orthodontist, I know that my continuing education is critical to doing my job well. I strive to stay abreast of the latest orthodontic methods so that I can ensure my patients receive the best care possible. As a part of my continuing education, I am active in several online study clubs …that focus on patient treatment, practice efficiency and the latest technologies in orthodontics.
I am also active in the dental community and am a member of the Lane County Dental Society, Oregon Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists and the Charles H. Tweed Foundation. I focus my studies on the latest advances in orthodontics—including Invisalign, TADS and cone beam CT. Continuing education is an invaluable part of my practice life and allows me to offer the best, most advanced—and comprehensive—care for my patients.
Love of Profession
The personal connections I forge with my patients make my job truly worthwhile. I enjoy meeting new friends and helping them attain the smiles of their dreams. The best part of my job is the moment when a patient finishes treatment and sees their new smile for the first time. I am honored by the trust that my patients put in me, and do my best to achieve perfection with every treatment I give.
We love to laugh and have a great time in our office—and particularly enjoy celebrating our patients’ new smiles. Each time a patient's braces come off, we sing and have a party! I thoroughly appreciate the relationships I have with my patients and their families, and work hard to ensure that each patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile.
Family and Community
I was born in Tucson, Arizona, but moved around a lot since my was in the Air Force. My wife and I have lived in Eugene since 2002, and love raising our children here. We have four children—Chloe, Alice, Andrew and Colin.
In my spare time, I run marathons. I have completed the five major world marathons in Berlin, New York, Chicago, London and Boston. I thoroughly enjoy running and the camaraderie that comes along with meeting people through running. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, snow and water skiing, and boating with my family.
In addition to staying active, I am also passionate about helping my community. I am a member of the Lane County Dental Society and Junior Achievement, teach classes at Lane Community College and support local sports teams, schools and activities. I also participate in the Candy Buy Back Program, with donations going to local charities.
