Very much at home here

Would not talk to me even for a short phone call after nurse assured me he would call. Front desk said since I was a patient of his I could not get an appointment for 6 months. New patients get to see him in less than a month. Also received email that ask me if I wanted to make appointment. Had no doctor name who ask for this appointment. It did have a phone number to call. I called and was told Dr. Maltz had refered me to a specialist. I was not told by anyone why or what this specialist was referred. I cancelled this referal Also I feel this doctor is the worst I’ve seen in over 60 years. This is the first time I have ever done a review. Hope it help to know.

I was told by his nurse that a pre-op visit for a colonoscopy was free of charge including the co-pay. It turned out that my insurance company was charged and I was charged for the co-pay. On the day of the pre-op visit, the nurse only weighed me, no blood pressure checked….Dr. Maltz came in the room and sat down in the chair and said very few words. According to his progress notes, he stated that he thoroughly checked me out. He stated that he checked my heart, abdomen, vital signs, chest/lungs, extremities, skin, lymph nodes and my eyes. All he did was sit there and never got up to do anything he said he did on the report. I complained about the bill I received by him. The co-pay was waived. The insurance company was charged with the rest. I reported this to them as well. It’s not about the money regarding the co-pay. It’s about the way this was carried out. 98% of what is on the progress notes are simply not true. Unacceptable

Very good at what he does. Very knowledgable and well trained.

I seen another gastroenterologist doctor in Franklin who was not very nice. Dr Maltz treated me with care and respect. He explained that I have ibs and gave me medicine that has helped tremendously

I was referred to this dr. when he walked into the room he had NO BED SIDE MANNER whatsoever! Left there immediately went to another dr & found out i had lots of things going on with me. I could have died in his office & he would have kicked me to the curb. I have 3 insurances so i was not a pity case. Please if you have a love one DO NOT let this dr see them he could care less about you! i hope he is run out of town!

I was sent to this doctor from a surgeon in the same building but downstairs in a diff group- she was amazing. This man barely looked at me, said he had no idea what was going on and felt it would be in my best interest to go to the Alternative Med Group down at the Gulch. Not even a week after that I was hospitalized with cdif for over a week. All he had to do was take the time. Very disappointing bc I absolutely LOVE THE SURGEON who referred me to him. I was there for a follow up with the surgeon but had something else odd going on and the symptoms were "not his thing" and were the surgeons. She said it is his area. One year later I'm having the same issues. Painful issues. And it's not cdif. I was tested. I called to see if I can see the other Gi at this office and was told I cannot. So I guess I will either drive downtown to our old Gi or find a new one in Franklin. Such a letdown. Think hard.

Dr. Maltz was called in to consult on my mother's case after she was admitted from the ER. He was outstanding. Very thorough. Has an excellent bedside manner. I had to call the office due to complications and he was the doctor on call. He took his time, listened well, answered questions. Gave good sound medical advice. I hope he won't become jaded over time because right now he's a caring doctor who I'm impressed with and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
