As a young man, Dr. Schwantke was particularly influenced by his hometown eye doctor who he was able to observe and, through him, learned more about the optometry profession. He saw firsthand the importance of his mentor’s role in the community and his enjoyment as he helped provide people with better vision. It was then Dr. Schwantke knew that optometry was a profession he would really enjoy. Dr. Schwantke especially enjoys getting to know and connect with his patients and their families. He truly considers all of his patients as friends.
