Lacking professionalism

I went to see Dr. Lorber for an independent medical review, scheduled by the workers compensation insurance company, for an on the job injury. Filling out the paper work at the office, the office worker wanted my social security number, which is no longer required in medical office's; in addition, she wanted me to initial and sign release forms to the workers compensation company, not just for the exam being performed, which is required by law, but also my entire life history of any and all medical records from there office, and any of there affiliates. Which is of course a violation of civil laws and liberties. When I initialed only the medical release, for the records, the insurance company is allowed by law to access. She was not accepting, and became visibiliy upset with me. Awkward...lol! Once in the appointment with Dr. Lorber, he was polite, with a good bedside manor. The concerns arose when later, I read his medical report. It wasn't independent by any means. It appeared as… though he was using his education and medical training, not to give an independent review, but rather manipulate the facts for benefit the insurance company. In multiple aspects it included information that was by no means true. From what I could gather, I don't doubt by any means that Dr. Lorber is an intelligent, well versed and highly educated man, with excellent experience in his feild; however, I do think it's sad, such expertise is used, not for medical science, but rather a deceitful manipulation, for the unlawful benefit of his payee. I truly hope this isn't a common occurrance, but if you have been seriously injured at work, and have to see this doctor for any reason, consider yourself warned.

Dr lorber had an odd passive aggressive way of talking to me. His diagnoses were all over the place often doing a 180 in my treatment plan. He was definitely not on my side and seemed more on the side of the insurance company than mine. I was assigned to him and he was definitely not my first choice for care of my work injury. Finally after years of shots and gels he told me there was nothing he could do and I was sent to another dr who was more traditional (and successful) in my treatment plan. Dr lorber is odd and I would avoid him IMO.....

I was considering seeing Dr. Lorber for a chronic medical condition I've had for 5+ years now, and called his office based on the one glowing review I kept seeing online for him and his clinic. Whoever wrote said review must either be an employee, family member, or otherwise completely biased individual, because his staff is incompetent in every sense of the word(sad when you consider their job is patient effacing every day of the week) and they act like they could care less about your needs as a person/patient. I had the extreme displeasure of dealing with a minion name Anne Marie, who was more focused on me getting her name right than she was on actually helping me see if Dr. Lorber was a good fit for my medical and therapeutic needs. Which is doubly sad when you think about how many people are out there looking for work, in this particular field, and others that could do ten times the job this lady is claiming to perform. But as for Dr. Lorber himself, he took one glance at… some preliminary answers I gave to questions asked by the aforementioned inept and literally unqualified(see: NOT a doctor)minion, and with one wave of whatever was in his hand, he decided that I was not a patient that he wanted to, or needed to see for any reason. What consummate professionalism! The best part of this horrific experience had to be that Dr. Lorber and other "pain management" specialists will always have repeat business from the many people who suffer from legitimate chronic pain conditions, so they really get to treat people whatever way they like without fear of any real repercussion to their reputation and/or practice. I get that the DEA and other agencies have made any doctor who treats pain with a growing list of medicaitons gun shy as can possibly be, but Lorber takes it to a whole new level...This guy didn't even give me the time of day for Christ's sake! Oh well, lesson learned and I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around, so hopefully he'll be grossly mistreated by someone with an exaggerated sense of self importance someday soon, and it shall truly be a taste of his own medicine. My advice, would be to stay as far away from this amateur and his lackeys as you possibly can if you're in need of real medical care for any kind of chronic pain. You will be nothing but a stipend for his coiffures, that is if your lucky enough to be one of the chosen few to get in the front door of his office. You've been warned folks. P.S. Vitals really needs to allow half star ratings, because this guy would earn them across the board.
