Dr. Bradley Jay Katz, MD

I saw Dr. Katz, who had me sit in the examining chair while he typed away at the computer for what seemed to be an eternity. He told me we would 'chat' after he finished with the computer. When he stopped typing he spewed off a couple of sentences which were inaccurate & short & then just took off. Now I must consult with another physician. I am incredulous that this doctor represents the University of Utah at such a well renowned facility. I am a newcomer to Utah & was just horrified at how I was treated. I received inferior attention at best & indifference at worst. A demeaning experience.

He was a terrible neuro-opthamologist. He didn't examine my eyes or offer any treatment options. He didn't read my chart at all before walking in the room. He just regurgitated the same rare diagnosis as the referring opthamoligist. He spent less than 2 minutes in the room and didn't care to discuss my pertinent medical history or family history. He and/or his staff was supposed to call to refer me to a neurologist, but never bothered to make the call. However, his resident was good.

Dr katz is more interested in staring at a computer screen or talking about you to his assistant like you aren't in the room, than actually interacting his patients and answering his questions. It is almost impossible to get a call back from the only person, Ann, that can schedule an appointment with him. I have been trying for weeks to schedule a follow up appointment and still haven't gotten a call back. Avoid Dr katz if at all possible.
