Dr. Bradley Leon Pearman, MD

Was a patient for several years. Developed a condition and he failed to properly treat. Continued to over recommend steroid drops. I had no idea the drops could elevate eye pressure and long term use cause glaucoma. I strongly urge any patient seeing any eye doctor to be aware of over use of steroid drops. I also recommend, if your doctor isn't taking care of the problem or fails to properly treat you, please seek other medical advise immediately. It seems most doctors in the present time, are more concerned with the number of patients they see and the amount of money generated for a group, than the proper care of patients. Doctors do not listen and are not concerned with patient care. This doctor IMO is more concerned with being a know it all and failing to listen. He doesn't spend any time with a patient discussing conditions, etc.

Considering this group and checking out doctors. Why can't I read reviews for this doctor. I can see there have been reviews yet they aren't avail to read? Curious

Just found out Dr. Pearman will not be coming to Morristown and is not doing any surgery. Apparently there are limited doctors at the Morristown practice now and if you have any kind of emergency you must travel to Knoxville. I am surprised the practice didn't notify patients. Has this happened to other patients in Morristown. What an unprofessional practice.

Not even aware he had surgery and upon return limited. You would think the practice would have the professional sense to advise patients of this. On the other hand, I've had problems with the entire practice for some time. Calls handled obviously by a call center, amount of time spent on hold. Practice has offices at other locations and there is no way you can contact the actual office you are going to. Due to lack of notification from this office regarding this issue, I have changed to another practice. I am very pleased with the fact the new office is so up to date and the doctor is so much more thorough and listens and advises in great detail. The new practice also has various locations and each location is available by phone - no call center. Dr. Pearman did not give any specific orders when I had my cataract surgery. I didn't know if I could shower, get water in my eye, when I could wear any makeup, things to not use when washing my face, etc. In other words I… didn't have a clue about anything except when to use drops, emergency phone number after surgery, etc. I had expected to get a list of things do and don't even the post op appointment and there was nothing. A friend had cataract surgery at a different group and was given very detailed information what to do and not to do including wearing eye make up etc.

The good reviews obviously for vision exams. I don't think Pearman is a match for patients requiring more advanced treatments/surgeries. Dr. Pearman does not advise patients of issues and does not give detailed information. He is an in and out doctor, speaks to his nurse in medical terms and does not break down, in layman terms, what is wrong. Biggest mistake for me, had to find another more patient friendly doctor. Good communication is vital especially when it comes to any health matters. He's not concerned with his patients, he's obviously more concerned with his time.

No instructions about anything. Doesn't tell you what is wrong and doesn't address an issue or care when something is beginning to happen. A condition that could have been handled and addressed with proper care could have been prevented from worsening to the point it currently is. I am left at the mercy of finding a new doctor with a good group who can now handle the mess that has been created. I wish I had left his practice along time ago. He is not interested in patients, he is rude, short tempered, doesn't really care about the most important sense a person has. I have never had a doctor so lax in care and concern for a patient especially when it comes to something as important as eyes. My opinion, he needs to stick to vision exams for glasses only. I don't think he washes his hands before or after handling your eyes. He also just sends you out of the office knowing no more than when you came in. A waste of my time and money and most importantly lack of concern for my… eyes.

I had an appointment and consultation with Dr. Pearman this morning, and I have never been treated so poorly by any physician! He didn't properly explain what he wanted me to do during his examination but then became extremely impatient when I didn't understand what he was asking. He was so condescending and treated me as if I were a child.. He asked me to put in my contacts but gave me no opportunity to wash my hands beforehand. He wasn't happy that I had not brought my eye prescription with me and the packages from my contacts, but no one on his staff communicated that to me. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was just having a bad day, because he came in the door with a grumpy look on his face. However, after reading the previous reviews, it seems that this is a pervasive problem. I'm sure he is very smart, but I need an ophthalmologist who is smart AND has a friendly and patient bedside manner.

Dr. Pearman was very impatient, did not welcome questions interrupting when I tried to ask them and giving me curt orders, I was extremely upset when I left the office. Also he kept dropping lens on the floor and then put them against my eye to try them, when I asked if they shouldn't be cleaned before using them he stated that they clean them often, but obviously it did not concern him that a lens had been on the floor and then he used it on my eye. His technician was very thorough and welcomed questions.

I was a complicated patient with significant astigmatism and Dr. Pearman had enormous patience, empathy, knowledge and skill throughout the process that led to a very successful surgery. I highly recommend him! He called the night after my surgery to see how I was doing and always took time to talk not only with me and answer any and all questions, but also those of my husband! He consulted with a colleague on my case and gave me options to consider.

Three reviews aren't enough to evaluate and/or make an appt. with a physician, but these 3 previous posts are SO NOT the doctor I have known for 12 years. Having met Dr. Pearman in the ER on a Sunday afternoon that he was "on call," I switched from another doctor in the same practice to him with my follow-up appt. I have had various problems with my right eye as the result of a brain tumor, and, without his meticulous care, follow-ups, and researching any other attempt of which he could learn and use, I believe I would be blind after these 12 years, He has never been anything but kind, patient, explanatory, and being certain that my husband (his patient, also), are "in the loop" with his procedure and the understanding. I can't say enough about the goodness of Dr. Pearman, as a person and an opthalmologist, and have referred him many times to friends and neighbors who later call to say the same as I just have. He's extremely busy but I know that I will receive the same care he is… giving to the patients before he sees me. Dr. Pearman has called to my home the next day after a procedure to ask how I am doing.The only negative response I can offer is that the wait is, sometimes, long, but that's because he is so thorough, willing to answer all questions, precise and has a lobby filled with patients who believe in his expertise, and have trust in his abilities. May the Lord bless him with a long, healthy life so I never have to find his replacement.
