Dr. Bradley H Ruben, DO

I have heard wonderful things about this physician and wanted to take him on as my primary. I have pain issues from a very severe fall. When I called to see if the doctor was accepting new patients the phone was answered in a very rough manner. You could hardly hear her to start and she offered the nurse practitioner saying Dr. was not accepting new patients. I told her I wanted the physician not the nurse practitioner and she slammed the phone down in my ear. I was made to feel like I was a bad person who didn't deserve a doctor! This was a very bad experience for someone in pain to have to go through. I would never recommend this practice to anyone.

I have a 10 year history of back and side pain. Dr. Ruben has treated my back pain with injections providing great relief. He has also set up various scans and tests to determine root cause if one. I am very pleased with the amount of personal time taken by this physician. The staff is delightful and busy. I continue to visit as necessary and would recommend this doc to anyone who needs a well trained medical opinion and diagnostic approach to the issues.

The staff and billing office (if there is one) mirror the poor disposition of the doctor. The staff is incompetent and cannot answer the simpliest of questions regarding the costs of their services. Rec'd their bill for the first (consultation) visit and a follow-up visit. Can you imagine a doctor charging $350 for a consultation when the patient brought in their x-rays and reported to this doctor that they had pain due to sciatica? $350? What a joke. The follow-up visit was to get an epidural for pain. This visit was like an episode from the Keystone Kops...the doctor didn't know why I was there, didn't know where I was having pain, and when questioned about the cost of the epidural, he went ballistic. Needless-to-say, wasn't going to have an angry person touch me much less give me a potentially dangerous epidural. I opted to leave versus having any "treatment." The charge for the second nothing happened visit because the man was out of control? $90! Talk about nerve! Anyway, save… yourself time, money and possibly serious consequences by NOT going to this guy.

Consultative visit went fine. Follow-up visit a disaster! Asked for billing information, "we can't give you info as this is done once a week by an outside firm" After a 15 minute wait, got called in to see the doctor. Doctor comes in, he's reading file, "You're here because of pain?" Me- "Yes." Dr. "The pain is on where?" Me- "Right side, sciatica." Dr.- "What are you here for?" Me- "Epidoral injection." Dr. "Epidoral?" Me- "Yes, you scheduled me for the shot last week." Me- "By the way, what does the epidoral injection, procedure cost?" Dr. (very irate/angry) "I practice medicine, I don't deal with money!: (and storms out of room). Doctor returns. Dr. - "You know, the injection can 'blow a disc'." Me- "Well let's just wait." (Would you get a potentially dangerous procedure done by an angry doctor? Well me neither, so I decided to leave.) What a terrible experience! Uninformed staff, discourteous and unprepared doctor. I'm going back to my primary care physician to get his… recommendation for a pain management specialist...something I should have done instead of looking up and finding this pineapple on-line.

This doctor is one of the best in his field. Helped very much with pain issue.
