Dr. Bradley W. Wargo relocated to the Shoals, back to his southern roots, from Central Iowa. He began his medical career attending undergraduate school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuropsychology and Pre-Medicine in 1993. During his undergraduate education, he worked for two years in the neuropsychology department at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center.In 1998, Dr. Wargo graduated from medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. Following medical school, Dr. Wargo received his post-graduate residency training in Pediatrics and Anesthesiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, which he completed in 2002.Following his residency education, Dr. Wargo completed his Pain Management Fellowship at The University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in 2003. Early in his medical career, Dr. Wargo was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Texas A&M School of Medicine at Scott & White Clinic.Since leaving academic practice, Dr. Wargo has been practicing anesthesiology, pain management, interventional pain management, and regenerative medicine with a comprehensive evidence-based approach emphasizing holistic and preventive management. Despite leaving academic practice, Dr. Wargo has continued to publish extensively, expanding the knowledge base of anesthesiology, pain management, interventional pain management, and regenerative medicine management (OrthoBiologics). Dr. Wargo serves on the Editorial Boards of two peer-reviewed medical journals, one of which he also serves as a Section Editor.He has served as the President of both State Societies of The American Society ofAnesthesiology (ASA) and The American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) for the State of Iowa. He has lobbied at both the State levels in Des Moines, Iowa, and the Federal levels in Washington, DC on behalf of patients' access to high-quality medical care for over 15 years. He is a Past-Chair of the Anesthesiology Certifying Board and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Pain Management Certification Board. He remains a National Board Examiner for Anesthesiology, Pain Management, Interventional Pain Management, and Regenerative Medicine. He has also obtained International Board Certification in Pain Management (FIPP).Dr. Wargo expresses: "I believe helping patients to achieve their best outcomes means treating not the symptoms of their illness, but finding the underlying cause. This requires looking at the whole picture of the patient and addressing not only their pain, but also their mind, body, and spirit."When he is not caring for the needs of the community, he is a loving husband of 30 years, with 5 children, one son-in-law, and one grandchild. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing guitar in his free time.
