Great Dentist, lucky to have Dr. Mace as my dentist.

I and my children have been going to Dr Mace for quite some time. I am thrilled at the time and thoroughness that she gives me and my family members. She does not beat around the bush. She tells it like it is. This is really good for some of us who have been pampered by past dentists. Dr Mace is practically family to us with the love and care she shows us. We all love her and her staff. So glad we have been making the trek to see her.

My family has been seeing Dr. Mace and her team for many years. They are kind and always helpful to our entire family. The technology is up to date. The exams are complete. I have never had to wait longer than ten minutes for my appointment time. Erika does a good job helping me understand my insurance policy as well. They are busy but work in our emergencies in a timely fashion. Its a great place for anyone!

--I'd give a minus score if I could. Their practice is definitely NOT "senior-friendly". Dr. Mace actually refers to us seniors as "GRUMPY OLD" people. (I am 68 years old and still have all my teeth, although I'm planning to have two pulled because of decay) --My husband and I switched to Mace because our original dentist (Dr. Rabedeaux ) did not accept B/C Wellmark dental insurance, and our combined dental issues were so expensive that we could not afford to pay them out-of-pocket. So we switched to Mace because she accepts our insurance. --Dr Rabedeaux had diagnosed me with two decayed molars that needed either root canals or to be pulled. I opted to have them pulled. I told Mace personnel that all I wanted was to have the two bad teeth pulled. Mace Dentistry insisted upon performing an ENTIRE full-mouth set of x-rays first, because they didn't like Dr. Rabedeaux's x-rays. They also insisted on another periodontal exam (which Mace's hygienist called a "bone-loss"… test?!?), because Mace's office had neglected to request a copy of Rabedeaux's periodontal exam. --Hygienist Stacey Hesse did the periodontal exam, and came up with numbers that were wildly out of line with the numbers from Dr. Rabedeaux's practice (Rabedeaux's exam was performed by a DENTIST not a hygienist). Rabedeaux's exam DID show some "4" periodontal pockets around the decayed back teeth, but elsewhere were "1,2,3". Mace's hygienist came up with scattered 4,5,6 throughout my mouth! If my numbers had actually been in the range of 4,5,6, Pus wouldn't have been dripping out of my gums!! --It's interesting to note that on Mace's OWN periodontal chart were these notations: NO suppuration (oozing); NO plaque; NO calculus; NO furcation (bone loss); NO mobility (loose teeth). Those remarks are wildly contradictory to their findings of deep periodontal pockets. --When I requested that Dr. Mace, herself, re-do the exam, she said she didn't have time and for me to make ANOTHER appointment for her to do the exam next week.(my 3rd exam with them) ... Meanwhile, my teeth are still rotting and getting more infected. When I asked her to at least check the FRONT teeth pockets, and compare her results with the hygienist's readings, she refused. Then she told me I should just go to a different dentist if I didn't like the way they did things. Then she actually said, "I think you're just a GRUMPY OLD WOMAN!!!! This interview is over." --Then she got up and went stomping down the hall As she retreated I said something to the effect of, WOW, how professional.... and she screeched back at me "GET OUT!!!"
