About Dr. McGarrell Dr. Brandon McGarrell spent his childhood in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked for two years as an engineer with Cypress Semiconductors. After much thought he decided to apply to Dental School. He spent four years at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he graduated with “High Distinctionâ€. Dr. McGarrell then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center for a three-year residency in orthodontics. While in San Antonio, he met the love of his life and his future wife, Dara. Dr. McGarrell has won numerous awards and publications including: 2nd place Student Research Group Award AADR, UKCD Research Day Dentsply Award Winner, Heat Stress Alters Cellular Transcription during HSV-1 Reactivation.
